Hi, I'd REALLY appreciate your advice on which community my wife and I should live in. The choices are: San Mateo, Redwood City, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, & San Jose.

We'll be moving there in about a month. My new job is in San Jose. We're in our mid/late-twenties. We prefer to live in an apartment or condo, hopefully with some nearby cafes, restaurants, shops, nightlife, etc. It seems like all of these towns sort of blend together in one big urban sprawl, but ideally we'd be in an area that feels like a real distinct community with its own character and scene.

By the way, Palo Alto would be on this list too, but it appears to be too expensive (I need to keep our one-bedroom apartment well under $2K/month). I disincluded a few other Silicon Valley towns because they aren't on the Caltrain line. (An important criterion for us is to have a Caltrain stop within walking distance, because my wife doesn't have a car yet.)

THANK YOU FOR ANY ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE!

I want to see the redwoods in California. I just moved to the northern part of the state, where do I go? Where's the best and cheapest place to view nature's splendor? Can you supply a link if you know a good one. Also if you've been, personal advice would be nice.

A friend of mine and I want to go to Chicago...we plan on taking a train, we only live like 3 hours away...but don't want to drive. And then getting a hotel in walking distance from the train station...then want to shop at nothing too fancy...and maybe check some awesome things out. We are only going for Sat and Sun. Limited budget!

Anyone have any recomendations of anykind for a first trip to CHICAGO???

thanks so much!

I am planning a ski trip over the winter holidays. I am skiing at Steamboat Springs, CO but am flying in to Denver. How bad are the roads in the winter. Do I need to rent an SUV? It's a lot of extra expense to rent an SUV versus a standard vehicle, but I don't want to get stuck either. Anyone from this area or experience in this area, please post your thoughts. I'd appreciate it.
