I am considerting relocating to Chicago, Illinois sometime after the year 2010. As a single individual, I might not be married and may not have any family and/or friends around. Some of the cities in the Chicagoland area I have consider living in included Naperville (Dupage County), Evanston (Cook County), Lake Forest (Lake County) and Woodstock (McHenry County).
My question is, what are the advantages and disadvantages of living in Chicago and/or the Chicagoland area as a single individual?

okay, bear with me here. i was supposed to move to san diego to go to college (im 21) in january. but ive always wanted to go to the university of hawaii. im more familiar with SD but, if anyone has any particular insights to both places, heres my question....

would it be better to spend my fall and spring semesters in california and come back out east in the summer, and sacrafice the san diego summers, or....stay out here and in the summers do the UH summer sessions (good value, very cheap) and maybe move to honolulu full-time to go to UH if my friend accepts a job there in a year after he graduates. its kind of a bland question but i was wondering if anyone had a feel for comparing and contrasting the two cities, especially for a 21 year old student.

i know how san diego is a lot, but as far as honolulu, im not quite as familiar, any advice would be appreciated.

btw..i know theyre both very expensive, so yeah haha

but how much does it cost to ship a car to/from hawaii?

I'm having my 23rd Birthday next week, the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for a good bar (with decent food) to hang out at... doesn't have to very big or popular, just want somewhere where I can have a table, drinks and just hang out with my friends without a big Saturday night hassle. Somewhere around the Royal Oak, Troy, Warren area would be a huge plus too.

Im moving to Somerset Kentucky in August. What is it like there? Is the area generally friendly towards everyone, especially minorities? Is the area generally safe? Is there anything to do worth seeing (besides the Lake Cumberland.) Are the schools good?

Thanks for any information!

Thinking about a 7-to-10 day winter camping vacation across northern Arizona & New Mexico, reaching as far as where Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico all come together, sort of.

We have winter gear for a car camping trip (Dodge van). No 4WD, no snow tires. Will that be okay? What kind of altitudes, temperatures, and snow conditions are we likely to encounter?

Also, many campgrounds are seasonal. Will we have difficulty finding places to pitch a tent?
