I lived in that area and worked on a survey crew for a few years, traveling all over the Flint Hills. I can see other forgotten cemeteries in my minds eye, but I'm not keenly familiar with that particular road (which shows as singular "Lyon Creek Road" on Google maps). I did not find the info you were looking for, but I did find a contact's info on rootsweb who seems to live on the road. Perhaps contact with this person would answer your question. I assume you are not in the area. If you are, there is no lack of information about the history. The oldest state capitol is on the west edge of Fort Riley and a few short miles from the area you are researching. And the old timers of the area know the history very well and are usually anxious to talk with those who have interest in the past (even if they don't otherwise talk to "outsiders").
While it is dated/old, here is the info on the contact:
DATE: Sun Jan 11 12:09:38 1998
NAME: Jerry Cody
EMAIL: jcody@hotmail.com
NOTE: 15520 W. Lyon Creek Road Junction City, Ks. 66441
SURNAMES: COADY, CODY, SYKES, JOHNSON, CHANCELER
QRYTEXT: James Henry Coady family moved from Swaalow Bluff,Decatur County, Tenn. to Cooke County, Tx. in 1884. Looking for any info on his family tree.
Here's another. There is a Lutheran church camp on the road. Perhaps someone there has info. Their contact page:

There's another Mount Zion in Osage County right by Pomona Reservoir. Could this be the one? There's a list of names from headstones at this website: http://www.interment.net/data/us/ks/osage/mt_zion.htm
And another right in the center of the eastern border of Kansas listed as above at http://www.interment.net/data/us/ks/linn/emtzion/index.htm
Same one? Different? Close to Redfield. http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=37.8181&lon=-94.9153&datum=nad27&u=4&layer=DRG&size=l&s=48
And a Jewish one in Leavenworth County
Society of the Sons of Truth Cemetery (Mount Zion Cemetery) (The Jewish Cemetery):
39º 17' 19" North, 94º 56' 22" West
Obviously, its a common name. I focussed on central and northeastern Kansas. There are others in southcentral.
I live in the Chicgo area now, but still have friends in Manhattan. If you are not close enough to do a drive-by, I'd be glad to see if any of my friends would do a little field trip and drive the area to see if they can locate it. The road isn't very long. Post a way to cantact you if you'd like me to ask.

Suggest putting words relating to your question at "google" and there you will get 1000,s of answers, to narrow down to exactly what you need just keep adding or rewording entry. From Kansas Mount Zion Cemetery to Kansas Cemetery Mount Zion...
Good Luck! And may the Lord be with you especially if reasons may be from recent circumstances...

Eternity is the purely answer i can imagine of (nicely, once you're a believer, there is God, too.) yet finally, time erases each and every thing else. There are even those who trust that aspect doesn't extremely have an self reliant existence, that that is a human construct: "Time Is A Human construct: "you've began believing contained in the destiny eternal existence?" "No, not destiny eternal, yet the following eternal. There are moments, you attain moments, and time by wonder stops, and could be eternal." "You desire to achieve one of those second?" "sure." "that is hardly ever conceivable in our time," Nikolai Vsevolodovich responded, also with none irony, slowly and as if thoughtfully. "contained in the Apocalypse the angel swears that aspect will be no extra." "i recognize. that is extremely the finest option there; sparkling and precise. even as all mankind attains happiness, time will be no extra, because there's no favor. an rather the finest option idea." "And the position are they going to cover it?" "Nowhere. Time isn't an merchandise, that is an idea. that is going to die out contained in the recommendations." - Kirillov to Stavrogin in "Demons" by Fyodor Dostoevsky printed 1873
