I will be 71 in Dec 06, my eldest son has nearly bankrupt me, and I travel to USA often because of my daughter and my Nephew, and I am tired, and have all the aches and pains which comes with old age, but there are 2-3 women who still want to be my friend, and I am scared, and I have knee trouble, trouble in walking, etc etc

We are a family of 4, (2 kids, age 12 & 6) going to Orlando for two weeks, for the 1st time.
we have paid upfront for all the attraction tickets and are staying in a villa, self catering we have also paid for hire car.
we do not plan on buying lots of souveniers/presents.
do you think £2000.00 is enough for a fortnight or what would you consider enough. thanks

We're thinking about places to move to escape Chicago weather (too hot and humid during the summer and too cold for too long in the winter!).

Austin has come up as a very real possibility, but what are the different neighborhoods there? Are there any places to be concered about crime rate? Like, are there good/bad areas north/south/east/west of the heart of the city? Are there good/bad suburbs?

I need some advice... I'm moving to the SF area in a few months from the midwest, but am not sure where a girl like me would be happy living; so I thought I'd ask someone who is from there.
I'm a little bit goth, a little punk, alt, Bettie Page-ish, and frequent cool coffehouses. I have a few tattoos & piercings; that you cant see during my corporate job during the day. I'm not all about the goth/punk scene. I like bike-riding & farmers markets & stuff during the day too. I like gardens, organic food, SAFE & QUIET neighborhoods.
I'm looking for a neighborhood that is across the bay that would suit me. Some people have suggested Rockridge, Lake Merritt area, or Berkeley. I've never been to any of these areas. I am regular middle working class & am able to support myself just fine, but not rich by any means. I'm just looking for an affordable studio apartment, something quiet, and in a relatively safe neighborhood. I like places with character (clawfoot tubs, hardwoods, etc).

I am going to New York City in November! This is my first time there. What should I do while I am there? Where should I go? What is the best thing to do there....etc. Anything to make my trip extremely fun!

P.S. I am going with my mom, and my neighbor and her mom. We are staying at the Barkley hotel.

We're young and are considering relocating from the Chicago area. The summers are too hot and humid and the winters are too long and cold.

We'd love a middle ground where there are reasonable season changes. A touch of snow wouldn't be the worst, but six months of winter is just too much. Hot weather at 90F or so is tolerable so long as the humidity isn't 100%.

So...

Nice weather, safe neighborhood, good enough job market, and perhaps even a home/townhome in the $150K range? Does it exist?

I know this is part of the business but as a travel agent i get great deals and don't charge a fee. When I give my clients the price they are happy because it is so low but they wait days sometimes weeks before they say "ok I'm ready to book" then the price is almost double. Then I loose the sale because now its too high. If the price is good, why not pay your deposit then. Why do people wait until the last minute?
