I live in the Hudson Valley. What is the closest beach location in New Jersey that is clean that I could go to for the day. Point Pleasant is about 2 hours from me and has a great reputation, but I'm wondering if there's a beach even closer. No frills required (boardwalk attractions), just a family beach that's clean.

I am a new resident to NY. Today, I was pulled over for going 80 in a 65mph zone on the thruway. The cop gave me a ticket for disobeying a traffice device. Is this better than a speeding ticket? well id like to go camping this weekend, unfortunatley life is such that one cannot just pick up and go camping in southern california.. you have to book a year in advance! its ridiculous!!!
