Helmets do more than just protect....they hold microphones, earpiecses, breathing tubes, etc...They allow the pilot to stay concious, in control, and informed while flying...Kamikaze pilots still need to be concious in order to hit their targets

So they don't hit their head and crash into the ocean, instead of their target. Also, it's part of the pilots uniform, and they'd feel naked without it. You've got to have a lot of moral to be a kamikaze.

The Planes are so basic and loud they can't hear ground control telling them where the target is

so they dont die from a blackout before they reach there target, and so they can comunicate with ground control about the mision. and they also probaly think they llok k00l or sumptin
