I will be moving my family, and will be traveling from NY thru Canada and into Michigan.

I have a current valid US Army military ID, my Wife and eldest daughter have Dependant ID cards. My wife and all 3 of my children have -expired- US passports.

I have birth certificates, and social security cards for everyone.

Do I need anything else?

Also I have a dog and a cat. I have current rabies certificate for both. Do I need anything else with the animals?

Thanks!

I need the name of a good, clean, quiet, mid-range hotel in Edmonton. Should be close to the university or two downtown. Nice if it had plenty of parking. too.

I haven't been to Wonderland in a few years and would like to go on a day where I can enjoy as many of the attractions as possible; so I'm wondering whether anyone has any advice on how to pick a day in July/August where it will be slower? (i.e. any particular day of the week, etc.)

Thanks!

I plan to cross the US border from Canada. I don't have a drivers license, so I sent an application away for a LCBO BYID card. It has my picture, name, date of birth, and date issued on it.

Will this, plus my Birth Certificate be acceptable ID? Or will the folks at the border tell me to turn around and go home.

Ok let me rephrase this question, Are there smoke shops in Vancouver similar to the smoke shops in Amsterdam where you can buy a "product" and try it out at that location, then get some food to wash it down??

To Beetleful BC? The pine beetle has munched its way through most of the pine trees in BC, and is now working on the spuce trees. Forests of standing dead pine, dried out, just waiting for a fire that is going to be impossible to control.

Its also headed into Alberta and it wont be long before all of NA is devestated and all the forests gone, if it isnt stopped.

In your opinion is this going to have the huge impact on tourism that I think it is? Never mind destroying the forest industry and the economy, the water sheds, fish habitat, causing more flooding and slides etc.

How many people are attracted to visiting Canada because of the forests and mountains and beautiful scenery? If that is all gone would you feel there is no reason to visit Canada?

I'm going on a vacation soon and making a stop for a night in Canada with some friends. I know they recently changed things and there are new rules for crossing the border. You have to have more than just an ID now...do I have to have a passport or just a birth certificate...and I haven't been to the border since I was little...what can I expect?
