Myself and my Hubby (both mid twenties if that matters) are due to go to Halifax on the 4th Oct as we are moving there next summer.
I need some ideas of where to go (seen the websites like virtual tourist) other than the really tourist things (and the bars- dont want to spend all day in there ) i.e I want to go to a supermarket/ gocery store to see price difference - so want a big one! and good take outs!! :)

I just moved back to my hometown; Edmonton, after 10 years and lets just say it's not my cup of tea. People are not very friendly, it's too dry and there is way too much crime. I have a great opportunity to move to Halifax for work. I have never been to the east coast but would really like to check it out. I don't know anyone there, and my nearest relatives live in Ottawa. Is it easy to meet people in Halifax..even if you've never been there before?

How difficult would it be to find work in Halifax? Specifically in information technology software testing? We are from Los Angeles and we are thinking of moving to Halifax. My husband is a software tester and was not sure what the job market would be like in Halifax? Another community we have heard about, but know nothing about is Bedord Nova Scotia.
