Doesn't seem a tad unfair that the roadsigns in other provinces have to be bilingual except for Quebec?

I know about French Canadians, but isn't Quebec still part of Canada?

Please understand that I'm not trying to be mean and I think most Canadians are nice people, but I would like to know why so many Canadians are bad tippers? I work at a restaurant near a major shopping area in Buffalo, NY and more than 50% of our customers are Canadian. I always smile, I am nice to everyone, but most of the Canadians I serve never tip more than a few dollars. The worst time was when I served a group of 6 Canadians, we had a great conversation and they seemed really nice, and then they left me a $2 Canadian coin, that I can't even use here.

Other employees and myself have never received more than 10% in tips from Canadians, and the general rule is that 15% - 20% + is acceptable for average service. Unlike Canadian restaurants, servers in the U.S. earn far below min' wage, so we rely mostly on tips. Even the Toronto Star did an article about this.

Why are so Canadians bad at tipping? Is this something they do only in the U.S. or are they just unaware of this?

I want to order a chocolate assortment for a friend who is Canadian. I am from the States and not familiar with what would be considered the best chocolate there. I don't want to send them some generic tasting chocolates. I have only come across a few names through googling but hoped someone here could help me. I came across these names...Bernard Callebaut / Rogers / Ganong.

Do we have any Canadian Chocolate experts here who could help me out?

Thanks in advance

Just thought I would pass along to anyone traveling to Nova Scotia, Canada that if you are driving a car with a child under the age of 19 and you are smoking, you stand to be fined. Nova Scotia is the first province in Canada to introduce this legislation...and is one step closer to making NS a healthier place to live.
Anyone know of similar legislation that may take affect in your area??

Next summer, I might be going to Ontario,Tornoto but after looking at videos and pics it seems extremely boring. My friend that lives there said it is so much fun and that it is far from boring. It doesn't seem like the USA specifically New York, where there are lights, camera and action going on.

Me and some friends are planning a road trip to Canada next summer. I have heard some rumors that at the beginning of 2008 you have to have a passport to get back into the US. Is this true? Is this all I need? What do i have to do to get a passport?

I have been told that Canadian immigration officials have access to U.S. records. I want to know if that is true and what type of crimes would bar a U.S. resident from entering Canada. When your passport is swiped, what information will appear on Canadian immigration screens? Will criminals such as felons, sex offenders, rapists be banned from entering the country?
