A couple of friends and I will be traveling to Vancouver and we've found that a lot of the hotels are mostly non smoking. And the ones that do allow smoking are quite expensive. Are there any hotels that allow smoking and are inexpensive?

Also, we would like to have ideas on what there is to do in Vancouver. We were thinking of skiing but none of us know how and where to do that.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

it? Wikipedia says Canada states these rules to have a .ca name & I want to know if it's true:
"Registrants of .ca domains must meet Canadian Presence Requirements as defined by the registry. Examples of valid entities include:
a Canadian citizen of the age of majority,
a permanent resident of Canada,
a legally recognized Canadian organization,
an Inuit, First Nation, Métis or other people indigenous to Canada,
an Indian Band as defined in the Indian Act of Canada,
a foreign resident of Canada that holds a registered Canadian trademark,
An executor, administrator or other legal representative of a person or organization that meets the requirements,
a division of the government,
Queen Elizabeth II in her capacity as head of state of Canada"

If anyone could help me out it'd be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm going from New York to Montreal on Jan. 7 to the 10th. This is the first time that I'll ever be riding Greyhound across the border. I just wanted to know, Is Greyhound on-time? The experience of doing the trip via greyhound? I believe that it's a one-day ride, so alot of reading material is store. So, is it worth it?

So I am purchasing a dance pole to use for pole ballet (no NOT stripping) from ebay for about $200. I'm wondering how much duty I am looking to pay since it will be a large package (think- the size of a pole from ceiling to floor). It is being shipped from the US to me, here in Canada.

This is quite strange, all day today in Vancouver we had nice sunny, blue skies with just a few tiny clouds here and there with a day time high of 7 degrees Celsius, but Seattle it has been overcast, and raining for most of the day. We're geographically so close, and usually our weather is generally the same, but today was much different.

And the great majority of them throw their butts on the street! It's one of the few things that really look ugly in this city.

There is people protesting against too much English being used in stores, but why don't they protest against too many arrogant people polluting and scaring visitors away by smoking just too much??

I'd protest for that, anyone would join me? If not then why?

Here is some simple questions, me and my girlfriend (who comes from there) are going to move to Quebec soon :) and I need some info. And yes, some of these questions will be silly, but do not be harsh on it :(

1. What music is popular in Quebec?
2. Are the quebecers unfriendly or friendly?
3. Rude or no?
4. Are they religious?
5. Is it a hard place to make new friends?
6. What's the difference between Quebec French and French in other countries?

And if you have any other information or tips for me, please tell me :)

Thank you!

I've heard some Canadians blame the United States for gun crime in Canada, because if someone goes across the border, buys a gun and takes it back into Canada and kills someone with it - apparently that's the fault of Americans.

The law in the United States is that people have the right to own a gun. It's in the constitution. That’s not the case in Canada. Guns are not legal there (for self defense purposes). If that's the law in Canada... it's up to the Canadian government to enforce that law, it‘s not up to us to make sure guns don‘t get into Canada. If someone smuggles a gun into Canada, you can't blame the U.S. for that.
