REPORT YOUR DOCUMENTS LOST IMMEDIATELY!!!

Wherever you are located find the number of the closest government office and let them know you've lost your passport and birth certificate. It's easy enough to get them back but if anyone finds them and attempts to use them it will be BIG TROUBLE.

Request an emergency passport. It should cost you around 100 dollars but you'll have it right away. As for the birth certificate find out as much as you can (weight at birth, doctor delivered, etc). You can go here : http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/en/subjects/cards/birth_certificate.shtml

Pick your province and go ahead. It costs I think 20 dollars to issue a new one. May not cost anything if you've never done it before... just check out service Canada and good luck!

You need to report it immediately to the police and to the Passport office. You need a birth certificate for a new application, but the passport office is going to investigate the missing one before issuing a new one, so you can go to both at the same time. You will also have to fill out a Statutory Declaration for lost passport.

Birth Certificates are issued by province you were born in, Usually the Vital Statistics Branch, but Ontario calls theirs something different.

You will need to get another certified copy of your birth certificate ..while you are at it get 2 to be safe and keep them in different places. Or give one to your Mom to save for you...or a relative you can trust. If you do not know the right office to request your birth certificate from, just use the SEARCH bar and type in "birth certificates, Ontario" Or whatever province you were born in.
After you get your new birth certificates and passport, make 2 or 3 copy machine copies of each and put them in different places along with the ENVELOPE they were mailed to you in . That way , if you ever lose your passport or birth certificate again, you will have your pasport number and you will have the address to contact to get another birth certificate.

I don't know much about passports but I know for sure that if you go to your local MP, they will help you guaranteed. Our daughter needed a birth certificate to get across the US border for a hockey tournament that we didn't know was scheduled. We only had a few weeks to get it and the MP office did it! The head office in northern Ontario doesn't have to hurry for you or me but they have no choice for the MP.

Renew your driver's license. Just apply for a passport, and get whatever they say you need when you do.
