I would highly recommend Maison India on Sherbrooke St. West - delicious food & really warm service. The owner & his wife are charming. It's a medium-sized place, with low-lighting and nicely-spaced tables. They have a great selection of beers too.
Oxford Cafe (also Sherbrooke W., corner Oxford) has amazing breakfast dishes, ranging from the simple to the over-the-top (amazing crepes/french toast, the 'hungry man special' that involves a steak, eggs, potatoes, etc.)... it has a really small, cozy atmosphere. It can get noisy, but in a good way. It also has a terrace in the summer which is great!
Pizzadelic on Monkland Ave is good if you like thin-crust 'fancy' pizzas, and has a nice sort of 'business-casual' feel - not too cozy, not too intimidating, just in between.
Sushi shop on Monkland is fabulous for take-away: super cheap (esp. the vegetarian sushi which I adore) and delicious.
Villa du Souvlaki (Sherbrooke right West of Decarie) has great food too - their souvlaki & fries (slices, not wedges or sticks) are delicious, with great tzatziki. It's pretty cheap too - can't go wrong with the place. It's very informal in decor, wooden seats, etc. and if you go in for lunch be prepared to deal with tons of students from Centennial High School up the road - I'd reccommend off-peak hours.
That's all I can think of for now, enjoy!

Cote-St-Luc barbeque
There are two souvlaki places right near Vendome metro, I think one is on Sherbrooke and I think that's the one that's better than the one on Decarie Blvd or something like that. The not as good one has a cool name, the better one I think is called Boeuf Haché Royale.
Loyola Hot Dog? Loyola Burger? Something like that?
