The chicken was great and the sauce .. oh the sauce! Dip you fries, dip your fingers! It's been 25 years since I've been back though. Does it still exist?

Fsantastic. I'm getting married and I want to show my wife some of the nice things in my past. A carriage ride up Mt Royal (and a twilight walk down), Chicken Chalet, and while I know it's changed badly, my home on Isle Bizzard. I lived there when there was only a ferry and no bridge - so calm quiet, and maybe 500 people.

Now you've made it hard to choose a best answer! The first answer is friendly and chatty. The second answer has contact info. Can I give you each 5 points? That one in Sherbrook is the one I remember.

If you mean the little place on Sherbrooke in NDG - yes. It's booming with a cheerful queue onto the sidewalk last time we were there on a Friday night!

Note:

wonder why we got thumbs down for this reply and the one after it. Did something happen to the restaurant or are we wrong about which one it is?

Chalet BBQ used to have two locations...the one on Sherbrooke Street near Decarie, and the one on Decarie near Jean Talon.

I believe that the second one has closed down now, but the original is still there. They have been serving Montrealers since 1944. And all they do is chicken.

They also have delivery as well as pick-up orders now.

Why don't you try St-Hubert instead, lol?

There was a really nice chicken restaurant on Laurier Street in Outremont ; I went there when I was a teenager last, back in the 80's so I don't really know if it's still open or not today, sorry!

Good luck to you though!
