I have heard and read different answers to this question so I am wondering what is the truth, I am thinking of little shops where you can look in a case and choose the one KIND you want?? Please let me know before i drive 20 hours to get there!!

No, not exactly. Go to East Hastings St. and you will find clubs/shops that you can puff in, and pass it around, but not buy or sell right in the shop. I had a good time at the one place that has bands every night, I forget the name but you'll find it. However, in that neighborhood there will be lots of people offering you weed and its all really good! I found $25 per 1/8OZ was an average price, which coming from Ontario is pretty decent. You could find it cheaper too if you looked around. The cops don't really care because there are crack-whores and junkies and all kinds of people all over the street. Like, you step over them while they are sitting on the sidewalk with a needle still hanging out of their arm and they ask if you're looking for a date. Yuck! Don't walk around that neighborhood alone at night.

If you are looking for Cuban Cigars, then yes. Also lots of smoking accessories are allowed. But those same accessories aren't allowed to be taken across the boarder. Anything else would be illegal and wouldn't be on display like that or they get shut down.
