My best friend and I have an oppurtunity to go to Europe this summer. I have never been and I would love to go but I am terrified of flying. I haven't been on a plane in three years. I am not afraid of terrorist. I am afraid of the plane crashing. I have had very vivid dreams of being in a plane crash and it scares me to death. I don't want to miss out on a trip of a lifetime but i just cant get on a plane. What should I do?

I have only flown a couple of times so I don't know where to sit.
I'm a bit of a nerves flyer so I want suggestion on the most comfortable place.
Not near the engines because it’s loud, not in the middle of the plane.
I was thinking maybe towards the back, I would love some one to help me out with this. Thanks

I never been to the Jacksonville airport and don't know where is the best place to meet someone that is coming in on a US AIR flight next week.
I know the carousel is a good place but is there anywhere closer.
Please give details as like 1st floor, name of the store or whatever.
As I and the person I am picking up both never been in a big airport like Jax. Only little ones like Sav.
Thanks for your help!!!

I have approximate 400,000 Delta Skymiles that ideally i would like to trade for either United miles, Amtrak points, or Starwood points. I don't even necessarily want a 1-1 trade. Do Delta and other programs allow you to "give" your points to another member? If so, are their websites that would help me connect with other folks who would do this?

Andrew Speaker, 31 year old personal injury attorney recently ignored CDC recommendations & flew to Europe to marry after being diagnosed with a rare, treatment resistent TB.
If YOU were on his plane to Canada, ignorung CDC advice to hire a private jet to return to the U.S., what would your opinion be on the following:

Should he pay you pain & suffering for your fear of catching his TB?
Should he pay for your testing to ensure he didn't give you his TB?
If you contract TB, should he pay all your medical expenses?

Was it ok for him to ignore the CDC advice because a private plane would cost him $100,000?

Should a private plane to the U.S. be covered partially by his medical insurance?

Since U.S. airlines had him on a no-fly list, do you believe he didn't know the risk he was putting other people's health at?

Were his wedding & his wants more important than the safety of others?

What are your answers to the questions above?

I fly alot, prolly like once a month. I always try to get a window seat. Well, every time I'v been on a plane I see a little tiny cyclinder (like 1/2 cenitmeter long, 1mm wide) inside the window, on the bottom, about 2 inches up. It's been in every plane I have been on. What is it? I also nopticed frost makes a Perfect cicrle around it about 1cm away. It's so weird. If you don't know what i am talking about, next time go on plane, look inside the window on the bottom, you ill see it.

Since airline deregulation, the airlines have lost about $14.00 per passenger ticket. This essentially transfers wealth from airline stockholders (and sometimes lenders) to passengers.

Good management and fuel hedging has kept Southwest in the black, but that is going away as fuel costs overwhelm the company and fuel cost hedging is no longer available. Airlines have no good short-term options, but to discount tickets to fill excess capacity (in order to contribute to the overhead - they still have capital expenses).

These companies need to raise prices (maybe reducing passenger miles). The only way I know that this is collusion... How can airlines temper the short-term negative impacts of "free markets" through industry cooperation?

Do you have a solution or do we let good companies and their employees fend for themselves under a "free market" that's not quite as rational as John Smith would have had us believe?
