Can you get a refund on a plane ticket if you don't go on the flight?

It depends on the type of ticket, and whether your cancelled before the flight left. The easiest thing to do is call the airline and ask.....

It depends on the type of ticket that you bought.

If the flight has already happened, they you are a "no show" and can't get a refund. That goes for any ticket. However if you bought a none refundable ticket, you should be able to cancel the ticket before the flight and get a credit (less a $50-100 fee) to be used within a year. Still there are some none refundable tickets and you don't get anything back for any reason. You need to check the small print when you bought the ticket.

Sometimes. I just bought one, and it is non refundable. Sometimes there can be a charge of $50.00 to change the ticket or refund it. You need to call the airlines your ticket is thru and ask them for the details of your ticket.
