Well, you dont have anything to be afraid of. The chances of an actual plane crash are very, very slim. There are millions of flights a day and all of them land safely.
In my psychology class, we were talking about this kind of anxiety and we watched a video on it. In the video, the people also had a fear of flying and the psychologist in the video took them to go see a plane and to talk with the pilot. See if you can talk to a pilot and ask him or her about aviation. The psychologist said that a general understanding on the realities of aviation helps reduce a fear of flying. You can also attend a course. If you start to get afraid while on the plane, think good thoughts. Think of a place that makes you feel relaxed or happy. That should help. I also suggest talking to a psychologist or a professional about your fear. They will help you out even more because they know more about this than I do. Your doctor can also prescribe you some anti-anxiety pills.
Dont worry about flying. You will be safe.

I'm the same way,I hate to fly and i cant relax until those wheels hit the runway.Europe is a long flight it may be tough for you but you have to do it,think for a moment if you let your fear override such a great experience, you would regret not going forever. When I fly I just think about the people that do it for a living, the flight attendants log in thousands of flight hours a year without any incidents and the pilots probably log in even more, our fears seem pretty silly when you think about it that way

Talk to your doctor. He or she may be able to give you an anti-anxiety drug for the trip. Sit away from the windows, so you can forget you are on a plane. Try to sleep/watch a movie / whatever.
Remember that flying is one of the safest ways to travel. I know that does not help much for an irrational fear, but it is true.

Your only choices then are either alcohol or vicodin. You could take the redeye and take a prescription sleeping aid and wake up there too.
Of course you know that the chances of dying are greater on the car trip to the airport than in the plane flight.

I am a fatalist and believe the time of my death is already set. So, if it is my time, it won't matter if I am on a plane or sleeping in my bed. Dying in a plane would be quick and painless. If philosophy doesn't work for you, try sleeping pills so that you will be groggy when you get on the plane.

I really think you should calm down. There are soo many airplanes flying in and out of airports. Airplane crashes are pretty slim. They do happen, but slim. You just need to calm down and let the pilot do what he/she needs to do.
