I have only flown a couple of times so I don't know where to sit.
I'm a bit of a nerves flyer so I want suggestion on the most comfortable place.
Not near the engines because it’s loud, not in the middle of the plane.
I was thinking maybe towards the back, I would love some one to help me out with this. Thanks

Firstly, check in early (2 hours before departure if possible) as your requests are most likely to be fulfilled if you turn up early. If you book in late, you're most likely to get a middle seat (the least desirable). As far as good seats go, towards the front, in front of the engines is quietest and you won't have to wait very long to get off the plane once you've landed. Over the wing is the safest place on the aircraft, with the exit row being best because in the event of an emergency you'll be first out. The exit rows also give more legroom which is a big plus. Behind the bulkhead can be okay, but the arm rests will never lift and the bulkhead is where screaming babies are most likely to be set up in their bassinets. The back of the plane is noisiest, and the constant traffic to get to the toilet and noise from the galley can be quite bothersome. So I'd suggest anywhere towards the front for a good place to sit - window seat if you don't want to be woken up by people crawling over you. Take a look at http://www.seatguru.com where you can select your airline and aircraft to have a look at the seating.

Well, i think its mostly based on personal preference.

For me, i like to sit in the window seat. I enjoy looking out the window and I dont care if I sit in the front of the plane or in the back. I have sat near the engine before and it wasnt loud (in my opinion) I think the noise level from the engines are about the same from all seats, front and back.

If budget is not a problem, well then first class is the way to go. The seats are wide, service is excellent. But if you have no option but to sit in coach, the best is the front window seats. Easy to get in or off the plane, nice view prior to the wing area, you get the first choices of the meals, bulkhead seats have legroom, and not as shaky as the back part of the plane.

The Exit Row is the roomiest/cheapest seat on the whole plane. They will tell you "in the event of an emergency" what to do, but don't let that deter you since an emergency is highly unlikely. Obviously first class would be the most comfortable/expensive.

P.S. Greg's response was grossly inaccurate. 747's do not have engines in the tail. He may have the aircraft confused with similarly large DC-10 or L10-11.

I found closest to the front as possible is the best. I'm a really nervous flyer too, and the first time i flew I made the mistake of sitting right next to the wing. All that flapping about freaks me out, at least if you sit in front of it you can't see it. And its quiter.
If you're travelling with a major airline check out www.seatguru.com, we use it in work all the time to advise people the best seats

The BEST place to sit is the emergency exit aisle just in front of the wings. The leg room is wider and it is the most stable spot on the plane AND you still have a view out the window.

The air flows from the front of the airplane to the returned so the closer you're to the front, the extra oxygen is interior the air. the quantity of oxygen interior the air in top notch is approximately thrice that on the returned of the airplane. They run the air with a minimum of unpolluted air as a fashion to guard on gas. they gained't enable the flight team to enhance the clean air until a consumer complains approximately no longer feeling nicely. The pilot cabin is on a separate air grant so it incredibly is nicely oxygenated. on the returned of the airplane, you're extra probable to have a headache because of the low O2 and severe CO stages. you're additionally extra probable to have a headache in case you sit down at a window seat because of the fact they blow exhaust gases from the jet engines between the outer epidermis and inner epidermis of the airplane to maintain ice from forming. a number of that exhaust leaks into the cabin. Continental flies the 767 on a number of it incredibly is long haul flights. If it incredibly is a 767, they have one extremely super bathing room interior the midst of financial device class. it incredibly is a competent theory to stay nearby of that bathing room because it incredibly is the main soft one to apply. it incredibly is sufficiently huge which you will extra healthful 3 or 4 people in there without crowding. in my opinion, I in many cases go browsing to the Continental internet site and flow my seat around attempting to maintain in an aisle seat with a vacant center seat. i stumble on it incredibly is extra soft if no one is seating in the present day beside me and that i will decrease the table for the vacant seat to apply as a facet table.

The best place is a window seat as close to the front as you can get. These seats are quieter, because you are far from the engine and you can get off the plane faster.

Emergency exit aisle seat is the BEST. You have plenty of leg room infront of you. Of course in emergency you have to help your fellow passengers exit. Now if you like quiet area choose a seat that is infront of the wings.
Now safest seat (satistically speaking) the the last seat in the back of the plane but the disadvantage is it is very noisey. Good luck!

I think the front. It will take your mind of the plane because there's a lot of people and action. But if you want quiet sit in the back. But i think next to the window is the best.
