I'm living in New York City and I'm flying out to Los Angeles to see my family for Thanksgiving. Now I have a bunch of young nieces and nephews (ages 6-14) and they are absolutely crazy over sweets. This is my first year in NYC, and so I wanted to bring them something sweet and New Yorkish. It hit me to buy two dozen Magnolia Bakery cupcakes.

Now the question: am I allowed to carry-on these cupcakes? I can't check them in or they will definately lose their shape and get messy. My best thought was to buy a bunch of plastic containers and put the cupcakes in it so that they're "sealed". Is this viable? Or should I rethink what to get my nieces/nephews and buy other sweets (any suggestions to this also?)?

I will be moving to Las Vegas in the next couple of years, I have heard that either Henderson or Summerlin are the two best towns close to Las Vegas to live in. How far are they from the strip and approx for a 2 bdrm apt or house to rent what are the price ranges. Any information about this would be helpful. THANKS!!!

I had pandesal (bread), kape (coffee), and itlog (eggs). I like the sound of the combination. For dinner I think I’ll have pandesal, kanin (rice), tortang talong (eggplant omelette), saging (banana), and then yosi (cigarette).

I dont mean to speak for everyone of irish descent [i'm part irish] but is this a part of irish character? I've noticed rebellion as a strong irish historical trait.

In December, I'm going to Paris. I've been there once for a short trip, but can't even remember the name of the St Germain area hotel I stayed at.

I don't want to stay at some out of the way place just to save a little money, but I don't want to spend 200 euro a night either.

I found a hotel called the Danube. Looks fairly good.

Do you have any hotel suggestions? Please answer only if you have first hand knowledge. I know a lot of websites I can search on, but I'd like to get real, personal opinions.

The most important factors about the hotel are location (St. Germain is good because it's very centralized, and you can walk to the Lourve), a comfortable and large bed, and a room without noise from the street.

Also, any suggestions about sites to see? Besides the typical (The Lourve, Eiffel Tower, Orsay Museum, Palace at Versailles, Notre Dame, the catacombs, the Le Pere Cemetary), are there any sites you'd recommend? Anything really special to buy?

I live in a small town in Pennsylvania until I was 1.5. Then I moved to a small town in New Jersey and lived there until I was 13. Then I moved to Charleston, South Carolina. I went to college in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at age 18, but would spend the summer with my parents in Charleston. After I graduated at age 22 (May of 2007), I moved to Charlotte and have been here for 4 months.

Without any additional information, what is my hometown?

Also, if you don't think RIGHT NOW my hometown is Charlotte, when will Charlotte become my hometown? I understand this question will be interpreted several different ways, I just wanted everyone's opinion! Thanks!

My husband are already legally married (stationed overseas)but are going to have a ceremonial (beach) wedding in Australia. Either in Cairns or Sydney, It will be in September 08, small either just me and him our members from our immediate families they said they would save and try to come.

Iam having a hard time trying to find a good place to stay. Iam looking for a nice hotel for the wedding night...say 4 star. What are the "star ratings" compared to U.S "star ratings". Where Iam a "5 star hotel" is like a (1 star hotel in the states).
I would like to be in an area that is close to everything so we dont have to spend alot of time getting to where we want to go...like cairns is close to Portland, and Kanadurra (I'm sure I spelled that wrong). But is there alot to do in that area...what do you recommend. Is there a tourist hotline so to speak that we can call and talk with a travel agent or someone who can help us figure out what we want to do. The inet is kinda scary

...or so I'm told. (I've never been there, but would like to visit and possibly relocate, based on all the good things I've heard about it).

I know that Denver has a higher percentage of federal jobs than any other city except for Washington. This makes it all the more frustrating that it's difficult to relocate and get established there.
