We are staying in Las Vegas this weekend with friends and this Ford 500 we rented is like an oven. It takes a good half hour for the a/c to cool it down in this 107 degree heat. Then you park it in the sun to look at the Grand Canyon and you gotta start all over again. Thanks for any info!

I'm from Michigan and try to answer questions to the best of my ability pertaing to the islands/countries I've been to. I see lots of people from Trinidad/Tobago on this board (never been there) and I recognize a few other people from elsewhere in the Caribbean. I'd never heard of a CD player being put inside an aircraft, until I saw one inside a Lancair IV-P inside an AOPA magazine (April 2005 I believe)
Would this be a good tool to use on those long flights? Would it even be safe? What if the control tower or another pilot tried to contact you while you were listening to a CD? (I'm assuming you listen to it with the headsets).

i'm heading there mid next week and am bummed to see the forecast is ALL showers. is it typical that it rains a lot there this time of year?? or can i be optimistic and simply expect small bouts of showers that pass quickly??

It seems that Mandarin speakers use "yào" in both Future and present, but there seems to be no way of knowing weather it is SPECIFICALLY either present or future in a particular instance:

"Nǐ yào zài fànguǎn chī ma?"

This could mean:

A) "Do you WANT to eat at the restaurant (present tense)?"

or

B) "WILL you be eating at the restaurant (future tense)?"

Which is it?

Everywhere we go people are giving us horrendous looks, bad glances, dirty stares, rude treatment at restaurants, etc. We are headed to New York in 2 days to finish our trip. I am hoping we do not have the same, horrible time we had here in Boston. Is this becuase we are from the South and have accents different from theirs? And are all New Englanders this awful?
