Can't answer all your questions fully but will give it a go, basic wage is around 8.65 per hour or so, along with this you get a weekly tax free allowance (which will be calculated on the basis of your family circumstances). So let's say a job in something like IT or so will pull you in around 300 euro or so a week, less tax free allowance of say, 100euro and the remainder is taxed at 24%. Leaving you with a wage of 242euro. (I'm being conservative here as wages are generally higher).
I'm unsure of the cost of day cares but know there are plenty. People often get people in private houses to look after their children too, these are advertised in the Letterkenny post and Donegal Democrat.
Rent is usually about 100-150 per week.

In general Letterkenny is a great town, there is a great buzz and atmosphere around it and because it has a third level college you'll find you'll meet people from all over. It's also just a short drive to beaches etc so you should have plenty to keep you occupied.

You also might like to know that there is a high population of Germans living in Leitrim which is about an hour and a half from Letterkenny.

Hope some of this has been useful. Best of luck.

The cost of living in Ireland is reckoned to be the most expensive in the E.U.

Letterkenny is a very beautiful city but it is in a remote location in the Northwest of the country, the people are very friendly, I spent time there many years ago with the military. (Rockhill House).

You have to travel the area and see the beautiful nature and scenery.

Put Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, into a search engine and see what info you pick up.
