I have a traveler's cheque made out to me. It was issued by American Express, can I take it to a store (Publix,Krogers,etc) and cash it, or can I take it to a bank (I don't have a bank here, I'm out of town) and get cash for it there or does it have to be deposited in a bank account?

I will be visiting downtown Chicago but will be staying in Schaumburg. I was wondering what the best method for getting to downtown would be. I was thinking about driving to a park and ride and then taking the blue line to downtown; however, I do not know which park and ride or how quickly they fill up (it looks like they have very limited slots). I'd really rather not drive downtown because I have heard it is an absolute headache. Any help would be appreciated!

We are having a family vacation and are going to Florida. My brother is 17 and I am 21 and our cousin I belive is 16. Mind you we are going with our 2 aunts and our parents. Are there alot of fun things there for our age groups? I looked up information online but would like to hear from anyone who has first-hand experience (guess that's the right terminology).
