Every major urban conurbation has at least one or two well heeled suburban areas known to be something beyond just another upper middle-class executive bedroom community. Thes kind of places shout character, natural beauty, poise, understated elegance, dignity and stateliness, all while not appearing too flashy and new money. Name a few leafy villages in the Home Counties that match this description. These kind of places usually attract more artisits and professionals than the executive and managerial types.

I'm planning a trip to Boston, MA either in late-Summer/early-Autumn for 3-days. What are some highlights and interests worth putting on my agenda?

I'm definitely interested in Revolutionary stuff as well as arts & theatre, but am open to other fascinating and interesting areas.

I'm looking for ideas to put on an itinerary to make this trip worthwhile. Thanks!

PS - I'm going to be staying in the downtown area, so anything in that general vicinity where public transit can take me.

AirTran Airways on Tuesday defended its decision to remove a Massachusetts couple from a flight after their crying 3-year-old daughter refused to take her seat before takeoff.

AirTran officials said they followed Federal Aviation Administration rules that children age 2 and above must have their own seat and be wearing a seat belt upon takeoff.

"The flight was already delayed 15 minutes and in fairness to the other 112 passengers on the plane, the crew made an operational decision to remove the family," AirTran spokeswoman Judy Graham-Weaver said.

Julie and Gerry Kulesza, who were headed home to Boston on Jan. 14 from Fort Myers, said they just needed a little more time to calm their daughter, Elly.

"We weren't given an opportunity to hold her, console her or anything," Julie Kulesza said in a telephone interview Tuesday.

The Kuleszas said they told a flight attendant they had paid for their daughter's seat, but asked whether she could sit in her mother's lap. The request was denied.

She was removed because "she was climbing under the seat and hitting the parents and wouldn't get in her seat" during boarding, Graham-Weaver said.

The Orlando-based carrier reimbursed the family $595.80, the cost of the three tickets, and the Kuleszas flew home the next day.

They also were offered three roundtrip tickets anywhere the airline flies, Graham-Weaver said.

The father said his family would never fly AirTran again.

I just read this on yahoo news,and wanted to add my comment on discussion,but yahoo removed discussions from news articles ,I don't know why.
Anyway I have a link to the news story here and I agree and applaud the airlines for their action in this matter. The family says at the end of the story that they will never fly that airline again. I hope i don't run into that family on an airplane anywhere.
Thank god there is some common sense amongst the airline industry to kick these people off the plane. They were compensated very well ,with reimbursement plane tickets,and free flight passes as well.
I can't believe that the father of the family was upset over this,goes to show you that parents today think that unruly children in public is quite alright.
I want to applaud the airlines for doing this.

We are planning a group vacation and had pretty much settled on Nassau (an island in the Bahamas), but I have been starting to hear things about how dirty it is there and about how bad the poverty/crime can be after dark. Is this true? How is the night life? Any suggestions on anywhere else to go that is tropical and has a great night life?

I was booking a flight to Phoenix, AZ in June, it said that it cost $365 for a round trip ticket. I checked if I had wanted to book it in Feb. and it only cost around $170, for round trip. And I was booking both on Tuesdays, which are supposed to be cheaper. Any advice? Please help!!!!

This year and next month will mark 50 years since they were discovered. They were in general a conglomerate of The 1st Bible, often refered to as The Old Testament. They have been kept precariously in seclusion because they reveal something that the world is not ready to see. I am about to reveal to you a big part of the reason that THE US is supporting Israel. It has nothing to do with religious beliefs. Why would We The People support this area with as much armament as we have? Many of us would rather see Israel a free state, much like the US-where anyone could go-at anytime to worship whatever their heart desired without the persecution of any other-by a standard that We have proved works. The Bible is a guide for Jews and Christians-The Quran for Muslims and Islamics-We have all wondered WHY ARE WE THERE-and accepted the LIES of this administration-WofMD and Chemical Agents-Saddam is Dead-WHY ARE WE THERE-Because the Dead Sea Scrolls are a TREASURE map to KING DAVIDS riches!

The paradox of our time in history is that
we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers;
wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints;
we spend more, but have less;
we buy more, but enjoy it less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families;
more conveniences, but less time;
we have more degrees, but less sense;
more knowledge, but less judgment;
more experts, but less solutions;
more medicine, but less wellness.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life;
we've added years to life, not life to years.

We've been all the way to the moon and back,
but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor.
We've conquered outer space, but not inner space;
we've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul;
we've split the atom, but not our prejudice.

We have higher incomes, but lower morals;
we've become long on quantity, but short on quality.

These are the times of tall men, and short character;
steep profits,and shallow relationships.
These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare;
more leisure, but less fun;
more kinds of food, but less nutrition.

These are days of two incomes, but more divorce;
of fancier houses, but broken homes.
It is a time when there is much in the show window and
nothing in the stockroom;
a time when technology can bring this letter
to you, and a time when you can choose either to forward this message
and make a difference... or just hit delete.

I have never flown overseas so I have never had one, now that you need one to fly into the states I think I should get one soon just in case, also how much do they cost and how often do you need to renew them? Do children need passports?

I hope to be sponsored by my daughter when I retire in a few years time and go and live in Canada. Would appreciate any tips about this especially about if it is possible to have state and private pensions paid directly into a Canadian bank account or if it is possiblle for a British bank to transfer the money monthly into a Canadian bamk account.
Also how does the cost of living compare with Britain on essentials like food , heating etc.
Is the cost of shipping personal items to Canada expensive and what items should I take with me?

Thank you for any advice.
