not sure where you are from, but there are beggars in most cities throughout the world.. I remember a fellow in NYC who would put ash on his face to make himself look dirty and sit in front of a church on Sunday morning.. One day, he put too much on and I told him he looked like Jolson. He went home and cleaned up a little and came back out with a more believable amt of dirt...

Bkk has beggars, yes.. but certainly not more so than in NYC...

There are beggars in Thailand, but far less than you would see in most large cities in the U.S.. The majority of beggars are usually missing limbs, are blind or are disabled in some way, unlike the ones in the states that are in need of a fix or a shot. You definitely don't see the aggresive panhandling the way you do in the U.S.

Yes, but not much. they dont bother you. what they do are only sit. It's depend where you go. Most of them are not Thai. ;)
