Travel - 27 December 2006

My cousins and I (they live in Fl. and I live in Mo.) get together once a year. Any ideas on where we could go? At the most 3-4 days and we are all kind of strapped for cash. We are all girls in our mid-late 20's.

Been years since I've visited...Is North Beach Pizza still there (Grant & Union), and what about small Chinese place on Market near the Civic Center? I'm from the UK and looking for some places to hit when I next arrive.

and got a lot of dirty looks...was wearing shorts and a tank top, so that might be why, or is it just that I'm obviously American? Also in other areas of the city, which were friendlier, I still got the feeling that I wasn't all that welcome. The group I traveled with were young and some were acting a bit spoiled, but on the whole, just want to know, are we very disliked over there? What can we do to change it, besides politics (we really have no way of doing that).

Oh, and don't come with the Marshal Plan stuff about rebuilding Germany. We gave 3 times as much Marshal Plan money to you Brits than we did to Germany, even though Germany was much more destroyed. So that's not it. It must be something else.

Then I just read that the British Prime Minister, Blair, was on a flight from Miami to London on a British Airways airplane...

Why does the British Prime Minister have to fly on a public plane?

I mean, every respectable leader has his own jet - at least that's what I thought. Again, we have Air Force One and the Germans, who lost the war TWICE, have one for their Merkel.

I am going to Puerto Vallarta soon with a few friends who have been there before. I trust that they are experienced with traveling to Mexico. But someone had questioned if and vaccinations are suggested for travel to Mexico? I wasn't sure, and nobody mentioned it to me. Anything else I should know before going there as a "first timer"?

i am thinking of getting photo frames for some friends who came to singapore as they have beautiful designs of "things" unique only to singapore. but come to think of it, are photoframes really useful to them? as in would they need it?
