Where should I go in Thailand?

I will be going to Thailand at the end of Jan/07. I am not sure where I should go. I will be there for a week by myself or with a few friends. We are looking to golf, golf, drink, and uh golf. Where is a good place for golf/ nightlife...just a fun place to go for 3 guys for 1 week and where are good places to stay. My girlfriend will be meeting me in thailand the 2nd week Im there so no more golf, but where is a good place for couples to go and see, relax, and just chill?
