Beijing is nice to visit in early fall, September or early October. From December to February, temperatures range from -15 to -5, and snow for the most part. But even in winter, the city is beautiful, actually even nicer with the snow. I'm going mid-February for the Spring Festival, I expect cold temperatures but a lot of fun.

Spring and Autumn are the best time for Beijing! Sometimes there are sand storms in early Spring, so late Spring is safer, like May. Late September, Oct and early Nov in the Autumn is also a good time! Only keep in mind try to avoid the big holidays, May 1 (the Labor Day) and Oct 1 (the National Day) both are a week long holiday, extremely crowded with domestic tourists!

December is getting cold, but you beat the crowds and get better deal at hotels. If you are lucky, Beijing in Snow is stunning beautiful! Imagine the white silhouette of the Forbidden City, you don't see the age but only the beauty! The air is fresher, only make sure you make to the Great Wall before the snow is getting solid or slippery. Otherwise, you really get some 360 degree shot when you took it upside down!:-)

I was born and grew up in Beijing, so this is some advice from a real local! If you need any further help, please contact me at our website: http://www.jiasdreamtours.com/ I would be more than happy to help you!

Welcome to Beijing!

If you go in the winter be prepared to be COLD! I'm not sure if you can climb the Great Wall though, you might slip (climbing it in the Summer was already hard enough ..) the steps of the Great Wall aren't all that great and are not standardized. The other thing left for you to do is visit the Summer Palace, Forbidden City and Tiananmen ... however, you can go out of Beijing to the city of Harbin and check out their ice sculptures but I'm not sure when those are completed by since December only marks the beginning of winter.

I would have to agree. Fall would be the better time of year and ticket prices are cheaper then :D (Summer's too humid and Winter is freezing cold)

P.S as a tourist, if you go to the Silk Market ... be prepared to get ripped off. When you bargain set your price at about 75% below what they're asking you for AT Least! and if they don't give you that walk away. The walking away thing works most of the time. If they come after you that means they were ripping you off. If they don't then your offer was probably unreasonable.

December in Beijing is Winter. I guess its good to feel the winter in Beijing... Snowboarding and ski are few of the things you can enjoy. Since the weather would be a cold one, its really nice to stroll and go to there historical landmark, just don't forget to bring a very thick jacket coz its really freezing out there but that time. After winter is spring, starting mid February... its also good to be there.

you could relatively purchase an umbrella in Beijing for decrease than RMB20 so there is no ought to deliver an umbrella each of how from the different area of the international (surprisingly because of the fact it replaced into in all probability made in China besides). In April, it is going to be in basic terms appropriate climate, center of spring yet no longer yet humid & warm like it would be in summer time. you need to deliver a easy jacket for the nights in case you do unlike somewhat chill out. relies upon incredibly, a great sort of my friends from Canada think of the iciness in China is vulnerable iciness yet those adult men are difficult season iciness people who're use to 10 feet of snow in line with annum.

For centuries China stood as a leading civilization, outpacing the rest of the world in the arts and sciences, but in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the country was beset by civil unrest, major famines, military defeats, and foreign occupation. After World War II, the Communists under MAO Zedong established an autocratic socialist system that, while ensuring China's sovereignty, imposed strict controls over everyday life and cost the lives of tens of millions of people. After 1978, his successor DENG Xiaoping and other leaders focused on market-oriented economic development and by 2000 output had quadrupled. For much of the population, living standards have improved dramatically and the room for personal choice has expanded, yet political controls remain tight.

What? Are you nuts? Go to Busch Gardens Tampa instead. It is the most fun you can have. Then go to the Hard Rock Casino down the street and have more fun.
