I've eaten those hotdogs on the streets and their imitation of Dunkin Donuts. They are not soft to the bite. You can compare it with Dunkin DOnuts whose bread is soft. Why?

I'm considering a move to Los Angeles from New York City. Just "Considering", meaning I haven't actually made any strides in planning anything really.

So I'd just like to find out how the weather over there is, the quality of life?

I know there are quite a few areas normal people should just avoid and stay out of, but are there nice places too? if so, what are they?

I lived in New York most of my life since immigrating here as a child from Russia but I never really liked it here. Its way too overrated. The summers here are unbearably hot and humid and the winters are just fickle and snowfall is too sporadic throughout the winter months.

Anyway, So whats it really like overall? Naming negatives as well as positives would be great. :)

Box cutters and even the tiniest knives are forbidden on airplanes. But what's to keep someone from bringing a piece of glass on board, shattering it into triangles, and winding a piece of cloth around half of it to use as a handle (a la Raven in Neal Stephenson's book "Snow Crash")? Surely that's a bigger danger than fingernail clippers.

I am traveling to Australia form Philadelphia and am connecting in LA. I am flying usairways to LA than getting on a qantas flight. I booked them together at the same time. Do i have to go back to the ticket counter and check in again or do I just go directly to the gate that the plane is leaving from.
