Flying into Paris 11/17 - 12/1 and want to spend 8 -9 days in Paris, then head to another semi-close area for 3-4 days (maybe explore 2 -3 different places, villages, cities) that we can get to fairly quickly either via train or a rental car.. I could use some suggestions of where are nice, romantic, interesting places to go.

hiya. In san diego, looking for the most central location to stay in where a person could walk around to see the major city sites like old town, etc. which section do you recommend?
is there much to see on coronado island? would it be better to stay there? if so why? or would you recommend beach area like la jolla? but what's the commute like back and forth to town from beach or coronado? i've stayed near the piers (by the tall ships & bordering lil' italy) for comic-con, but everything seems to close up there so early

My parents, my 20 year old brother and I are planning to go on vacation durring the middle of December. We currently live in California and are looking to vacation in another country.
