Gadds - - - you could probably spend the entire day at The Bowfin Submarine Museum and have fun - - - this is a World War Two buffs Paradise. There will be a new Aerospace Museum opening up on Ford Island in November. There are tours a plenty but what you should ALREADY be doing is establishing a network of pen pals on O'ahu. Both Craigslist & Yahoo groups can get you in touch with people with similiar tastes etc. Are you ex-military? Stay at the HALE KOA, it is the Hotel for The Military - - - want Upscale but are not ex-military - - then next door is The Hale Kalani. Have Fun.

Sure, you can go alone. But, if you're not too sure you like that option, why not check with a travel agent to find a group tour? You'll probably save some money, as well.
Hawaii is fantastic. Have a great time!

Sure!! Why couldnt you enjoy a trip alone to Honolulu???? At least you can be able to do what you want to do, sleep until whenever, etc!!!! I have been (with my husband and son) to Honolulu five times, and love it. Pearl Harbor/Arizona Memorial is really something to see. Plus the Mighty Mo!!! My father in law, every time he goes to Honolulu, goes to Pearl Harbor. There are always tours to Pearl Harbor and other military places.
Have fun, and aloha!!

Never been to Hawaii so I can't offer specific advice - but I'm a 65-y-o woman who has been all over the world, alone, in the last few years. I think you meet FAR more people and have FAR better adventures when you travel alone!

Take a cruise on one of the NCL Hawaiian cruise line ships, That way you will have plenty of people around to mingle with both on board the ship and during shore excursions.
