I like severe thunderstorms, snow, the cold, and some sort of attractive scenary like either a beach, heavily wooded, or mountains, something other than flat land in every direction.
I hate heat, lots of humidity, bible thumping conservatives (the fiscal conservatives I can stand),
I would like to be near a city with a commercial airport since I like to travel alot. I am getting a teaching degree so where ever there is a city I am almost certain to find a job, but my wife is an interior designer and will need a larger city within an hours drive to work in.

My husband has gone to work for a company that will be transferring him to another state.

The choices are Virginia, NC (where we live now), SC, GA and Florida.

Of these states, which is better, (excluding NC of course) and tell me about the crime rate, schools, etc. What town you have lived. Any info. you want to give.

Thanks

I want to live in Paris so bad it hurts. But I have no connections and no place to live. I spent all my money on a trip in which I fell in love with the city and think only of a life there.

Most U.S. weddings I've been to have a simple 30 minute ceremony at church and a 3 or 4 hour dance reception afterwards.

1. What are most Thai weddings like?
2. Is dowry still a common practice or is that an old thing Thais just joke about now?

I am interested in finding out the locations of ferries that go to isolated communities, locations or islands. I am not looking for large commercial ferry companies such as cross the English Channel, but to smaller locations off the beaten track.

When you respond, please give details about the location, such as city, state/provence, country and body of water crossed.

I am developing a web resource which will list these out-of-the-way destinations.

Because ferries generally reach places that you cannot drive to, the destinations are often marvelous and exciting.
