I am 24 and live in Kansas. I am not a hunter, but I do like to fire a gun from time to time. I am moving to a place that is already occupied by a groundhog (Under the garage) and I want to get rid of it! I also want a .22 handgun for the heck of it... I figure why not get rid of the groundhog with a .22 handgun... I can fiddel with the dang thing forever but nothing is sure to get rid of it like a gun (if i can hit it).

So how much would one likely be?
Do I need to take some test to get one?
Do I need something if I am carrying it in my car? (I dont have a reason to do that, but just incase)
Do I need anything if its in my house?
I guess I am just worried about all the stuff I will have to go through just to get the dang gun for fun, but I guess its a handgun, so I dont know...

Thanks.

I was wondering how you would go about modifying a SKS 20 rnd fixed mag to only accept 10 rnds. I was wanting to know how because of the different state laws haveing 10 rnd or less in a mag. Is there any web site that shows how to do this, any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have been wanting to buy a new deer rifle. I own a 30-30 and would like to get something different. I have considered a 7mm mag but I am concerned about the kick since I never shot one. I thought a 30-06 would be the next alternative for deer and elk, I hope.

I think maybe a 7mm may be to much gun for the deer we have in my home state. These deer are so thin they only have one side to them.

What do you think would be the best all around gun for deer and elk?

How do hunters feel about hunting down & killing a living creature? Do you do it for fun or for food? I think those who kill animals for either fun or to just to have them as a trophy case is just plain wrong. Again this is not bashing hunters just want to understand why they do what they do.

I recently bought a Bushmaster Ar-15 semi automatice rifle. I did extensive research on it and I find it to be a fantastic weapon. It is metal, 20 inch heavy barrel and has a carry handle with a dust cover and forward assist. I have heard that Bushmaster focuses all of it's attention into that one model of rifle, but a friend said that Colt made the superior rifle. But I have heard that when you buy a Colt, you're just buying the name. Any thoughts?

I bought a glock 22 (3rd generation, newest model) after doing extensive research on it. I have been fully satisfied with it and I have heard that it is a fantastic weapon that is nearly indestructable and will few faults, if any. Is this true? Are there any COMMON problems with the gun? Someone mentioned that a cop's gun blew up, but I believe any gun can malfunction if cared for improperly.

I am thinking about purchasing a 40 caliber Glock 22 because I will be entering law enforcement within the next year. Glocks seem to have very mixed reviews because of their unique safety trigger. I have spoke to some people and they seem to really like them since you don't have to worry about if the safety is on or off especially for a police officer who may encounter a threat in their career. Other people really dislike the safety trigger but I am not sure why. Is it a nuisance or something? Is it harder to squeeze off fast rounds? Anyone know or have any advice for me about my potential purschase of a Glock?

A handgun (semi-automatic or whatever, doesn't matter, as long as it has really big bullets) not a rifle or grenade launcher or anything. I know one, but it's fictional. It's the "Samaritan" handgun of the movie Hell Boy. So, anyone know a real one?
