My dad bought his gun in Nevada and is a clark county resident. I have been told it is OK to transfer this firearm between direct family members. (ex. father-son and grandfather-grandson)

California gun laws are harsh, overtly broad, and allow individual cities and counties to enact their own laws. While you MIGHT be able to take the gun into California NOW. That may not be true later on.

There is a reason more people leave California then move into it.

Make sure you really look into this Cali has really strict gun laws.I would not be suprised at all if in Cali if a desert eagle is a destructive device or somthing like that.I allways see in gun catalogs they will not ship certain guns to Cali.I would say that it would be ok if your father bought it in Cali and was gonna transfer it to you.But this will be state to state.Im not sure how you will have to do this.Good Luck to you

You could bring it to California, but not legally. the Desert Eagle .50 calibre is not allowed in this state, I'm sorry to say. But, don't do anything stupid with it and you should be fine.
