Cariboo....wasn't she that chick on Jungle Fever? In that case about 9 inches.....God that was a bad joke....

Please forgive me I just had to say it.

I hunt Caribou with nothing less than a .30 cal jacket round. Preferably .308 or bigger.

You mean Caribou? I have hunted them for the last 12 years or so with a Bow (Archer) I've never had to shoot an arrow further than 30 yards in Canada or British Columbia. I've bagged 4 to date and all but one was a Bow kill. I used a custom built 7MM Remington Magnum and shot him at 375 yards.Dropped him like a wet pile of laundry. There are some "Hunters" that would go for a larger caliber, but the caliber doesn't matter as much as the individual Shooter's/Hunters abilities with a gun he chooses and shoots well with...........

It doesnt matter how big you go with the caliber of a gun! I hunt deer and hogs with my 22hornett and dropped them at 100 yards. Its all about bullet placement. Ive been caribou and moose hunting three times and all three times ive used a .270win with no problem at all harvesting six large animals at 250+ yards. If you are an inexperienced hunter i would recommend an overkill caliber...300ultramag or bigger!

i have killed three all one shot kills with a 308 it just depends on how good a shot you are any thing from a 270 280 308 30-06 and 300 mag will do fine make sure to use a good bullet i like nosler partition or the fail safe just hit them in the right spot and they'll go down

yup, go with the 7 Mag, flat shooting, light packing, and easy to find rounds for. although, any of the other rifles will work well too: 300 win mag, 270, 30-06, 7 mm Weatherby mag, etc. Good Luck hunting

7mm mag, 300 mag, .30-06, .308, .35 rem, any of the new "marlin" guns. as with any tool, you must be proficient in its use. know the gun, the shot placement, the accuracy at the distance, and how the bullet will act at that distance, and atleast a 165 or better grain bullet or you could call the guide and ask them.

I wouldn't use anything smaller than a .270 with 150 grain bullets. But i think ideally a 7 mag would work great.

the .30/06 is just fine. get one and never need another rifle for hunting in north America. but if you are not worried about recoil and want your game dead without having to chase it, a .300 Winchester magnum or a .375 are good choices, too.

live in western PA, and damn proud of it <((((><
