My friend lives in a wooded neighberhood were there are a lot of deer. She walks and jogs a lot in the evening when there are a lot of deer out and around. Her friends told her that the male deer are attracted to the smell of women and can attack. So she is afraid of them. I don't believe this but was just curious.

It is super fun, and it tastes good too, so what's wrong with it? I go hunting every year for squirrel, deer, turkey, bear, fox, pheasant, coyote, and quail. I think it is one of the best things to do outdoors.

I am new to fullbore shooting - I have just joined Bisley NRA and obtained my FFL.

I am now looking to shoot a couple of obsolete caliber arms I have collected over the years.

I have heard some very good and some very bad words about firing the Lebel rifle (made in 1890, 8mm Lebel caliber)

Does anyone have any knowledge of these? Why are they so bad? I know they have 10 rnd tubular magazines which would be a bad idea to use, but would I experience any problems with single shots?

Did you ever think that maybe the sugar goes out of your urine and mouth because it is trying to force you to loose weight and that it is your bodies natural process?

I am not one to agree with the 'natural' form of things and I don't believe in medications. Though being diabetic forces me to be on them (some of them).

I know having a high blood sugar harms you but so does storing fat.

(this is an honest question, yes i am taking my medication please do not tell me to go to the doctor i've already been there.)

Kind of a dumb question ... but u never know. A bullet it a fragment of metal propelled by gunpowder and an arrow is a sharpened point with lots of force behind it when shot.

I have this Shilen Select Match Stainless barrel that I have put 81 rounds through. I used 60 round to break in the barrel. I have meticulously cleaned the rifle basically after every fired shot. I use a cyclone type rolled style brush for cleaning the bore and Butch's Bore Shine for the solvent. After shooting 8 rounds lst Saturday, I started cleaning the bore. I have been cleaning the bore for over an hour now. I'll run two saturated patches down the bore, then I'll run the saturated brush down the bore with at least 20 strokes. After that, I'll run two more saturated patches down the bore. Every time, the first patch comes out a medium black color, no hint of blue or green, just a medium black. This is either powder fouling or carbon fouling. I have used 3 moly coated bullets in this barrel, the rest have been copper plated. Do you guys have any suggestions for me? Any credible information would be helpful.

Can anyone tell me anything about anthrax in the whitetail deer population in North Central and West Texas? I read a newspaper artical about it yesterday, but it didn't really give much info.

We eat a lot of deer meat in my house and I am concerned about eating anything killed this next season because of what I've read. Any info on the subject would be appreciated.

I have posted before in reference to purchasing a handgun. Many responses I have received say to test a variety of handguns to see which one fits me best. My question, where exactly do I go to test several firearms. Do they have a variety of handguns to sample at firing ranges?

Hey everybody. I'm looking to get a decent handgun for myself and there are two handguns in the price range I'm looking for. The place I'm going to (J&G in Prescot, AZ) has both S&W Sigma 40F's and Ruger P85 MII's in the same price range on police trade-in in VG condition.

Now I had the S&W Sigma 40F before and it was not a bad gun, in 600 rounds it only jammed once and that's because the ammo was poor quality. I liked the .40 round but I can handle 9mm's better; this gun also seemed to feel too light for my taste as the clip was emptied...

Is the Ruger P85 a superior handgun in all respects? It has the same capacity but in 9mm, and Ruger has more experience with autoloaders (or so it seems to me)...I also like the look of these as opposed to the Sigma.

Should I go with what I know or is the Ruger going to be a better choice?

Thanks!

I'm looking into hunting bears in Manitoba with my dad. We are looking for a reasonably priced hunt (under $2000 US each). If you know of any outfitters in Manitoba or western Onterio that you would recommend or ones that you would avoid, please let me know. Thanks!

I went to a local store that shal remain nameless, to buy some ammo for an AK-47. Lets for the purpos of the story pretend that an AK-47 isn't taboo, and continue on shal we? This store sells many things, not just firearms. They have clothing, shoes, camping goods, some food, etc. The AK ammo was on sale, so I wanted to buy some. I enjoy plinking at the range. (shooting cans and such) On the recept, it read "7.62x39 Ammo $4.00". The line under that read, "Back To School Sale". I had a cheap laugh at this. I'm SURE there was no ill intent. it was simply a minor over site. In case it isn't odvious, this perticular ammo just happened to be part of a school shooting recentailly. this is why the "joke" is so taboo. is it wrong to have a cheap laugh at this oversite?
