The .380 Auto and the 380 ACP are one and the same. They were also called 9mm Kurtz years ago. The Auto=Automatic..The ACP=Automatic Colt Pistol.
You can relax because there is no way you can be messing up.Any of the 3 will fit, shoot and function out of any working 380 caliber gun Pre-War or Post War manufacture.

380 Acp Vs 380 Auto

The .380 acp n the .380 Auto are one and the same. Elsewhere the .380 is also known as: .9mm Kurz, .9mm Corto (means .9mm short) or even the .9x17mm. The only other round similar in nomenclature is the .38 Auto which will never fit a .380 pistol because it is way too long.

Best.

Nothing. The following rounds are all the same and can be fired from any .380: .380 ACP .380 AUTO 9x17 (NOT 9x19 or 9x18) 9mm Kurz 9mm Corto 9mm short Most of the world knows it as the 9x17 or 9mm corto, but here in the states we frequently still use decimal caliber as opposed to metric.

No, .380 ACP is .380 Automatic Colt Pistol.

.380 Auto is just a shortened name, also known as the 9mm short.

Well my .380 S&W Bodyguard would not shoot the .380 ACP but it would shoot the .380 Auto, so there must be a difference.

It's the same round.

Very often firearm companies tack on "auto" to the name of a round, I guess just to show that it is used in an automatic pistol as opposed to a revolver.

ie. 10mm auto, .40 auto, .45 auto, etc. etc.

.380 auto, .380 ACP, 9mm kurz, all the same round.

No

ACP stands for Automatic Colt Pistol

Auto is just short for that.

Similar to the names .45 ACP and .45 Auto, same thing.

No, there is no difference. ''ACP'' stands for ''Automatic Colt Pistol''. And .380 Auto is just another shortened name for it. Good luck at the range.

They are the same.

In Germany they are called the 9 mm Kruz (German for short)

Sometimes you will hear it called the "9 mm Short" in English speaking nations out side the USA.

Old ammo may be listed as "9 mm Browning" as he invented it.

It is also some times called " 9 x 17"

They are all the same. Just make sure you do not try the longer 9 mm Luger round. If it does not jam up and you can actually get it to fire, it will blow the gun apart.
