Well invited recently to a shooting range with my father and a friend, I've asked a few people before but never got a straight forward answer, so I will just ask here. Just exactly how loud is a gun? (pistol)

I have an oppurtunity to purchase a used Dan Wesson 44mag, 6", w/ scope for $450.

Is this a good deal?? The pistol apears to be in great shape. No physical defects. I'm more worried about the gun being able to handle HEAVY 44 mag loads. I don't know much about Dan Wesson Pistols.

Thanks!!

I want to get some slugs, but I am not sure of a safe brand. It's an old gun so I don't want anything mondo or magnum. What is something that won't break my gun? Thanks! What are your ideas for shells?

I mean im out in the fresh air minding my own business! And then you trawl around the pubs and bars, and see the guys and gals stood outside like lepers having drag! I mean!what a liberty! YOUR COMMENTS PLEASE??

Here in NZ we have 7 species of deer as well as thar, chamios, pigs, goats, water foul, phesants etc.
Personally I like hunting either the red deer because of their size or the fallow because that was the first deer i ever roared in. Pigs will alway be special if taken with a bow. But what do you love hunting where you are and why?

I got a Mosin Nagant M 91/30 that holds a 7.62x54r round. I was using it just at the local shooting range for target practice, but I am considering hunting. My question is what would be good game or what would be the biggest game that you could hunt with a 7.62x54r round.

I have no experience with handguns, but want to buy one for personal protection (and will definitely take a firearms course). From the research I've done it seems the 2 basic options are a 9 mm or a .45.

Could anyone please give basic info on which is "best". I realize each has its positives and negatives.

For simplicity I'll just list some questions:

1. Is one easier to be more accurate with?
2. Does the .45 have more "stopping power"?
3. Is the "1911" a specific model type of a .45?
4. Is either more reliable (not breaking, lasting over time)?
5. Regarding Glock's: What does the number refer to (i.e. Glock 17, 19, 21, 30)
6. Is either easier to use?
7. Is either easier to repair personally (with a repair kit)?
8. Is there a particular brand that is best?

Though I want a good gun for a beginner, I also want one that I can stick with long-term and appreciate as I become more experienced.

Thanks a lot for any information!

I'm on a small farm with a couple of other small farms around me so I don't want to use my .270 and my 12 gauge doesn't have the range. The reason I'm hunting this coyote is because it killed my son's cat, 4 of my chickens, and chases the horses. So all you PETA people don't send the hate mail because my son could be next on the coyote's menu.

So if anyone out there with experience hunting coyotes I'll appreciate the info.

I'm just curious if you need a license or anything to own a gun, not hunt.

He proposed to ban sale and transfer of ALL semi-automatic firearms. That means grandpa's shotgun, your keepsake M1, your antique model 1900 Browning .32 pistol, even your little .22 Marlin rifle that pops small game, paper targets and tin cans.
