well i can not say "good" but i can say that hunting is better than factory farming because
1. animals don't suffer their whole lives
2. animals are able to live in natural settings as opposed to filthy unnatural conditions
3. hunter will know directly where the meat comes from, not some "mystery place"
4. hunter knows not to kill mother animals and knows where to shoot animals to cause least amount of suffering possible, most factory farms just don't care about that.
5. meat tastes better fresh
6. less traffic accidents caused by transporting animals from producer to slaughterhouse
ok that's all i can think of!

Hunting selectively removes older and genetically inferior animals from the herd. This allows the limited food and shelter available to be used by the remaining animals who increase in size due to an abundance of food and habitat and to spread their superior genetics, resulting in healthier, stronger animals.
It reduces disease in animal population by again keeping the number of animals below the carrying capacity and lowering the chance of starvation which leads to decreased immune systems that are unable to fight off disease. Think of natural fruit trees. The fruit is small and the branches are tight due to crowding by other trees. But with trimming and proper fertilizer the fruit is larger and the branches spread out more.
Hunting helps to lesson the number of automobile accidents on the road. Decreased deer population, elk population help to limit the number of those same animals on the roads or at airports when planes are trying to land or take off.
Hunting provides money spent for the habitat and welfare of game animals. All the licenses and guns and ammo all have taxes associated with them that provide money for our Wildlife and fish commissions. This money goes directly into supporting wildlife projects.
Hunters work to preserve their sport by helping the game animals to increase. They do so by buying food, creating structure and managing these animals almost like free range cattle.
Hunting reconnects us with the earth and with nature. It reminds us of the role we play and how we are protectors and stewards of the earth. It shows us how the clever survive but how we all benefit when helped.
Hunting sharpens our senses. It brings us in tune with our sight and smell, hearing, touch and taste! Hunters know what it means to peer into deep foliage, or scan long distances, to move as quietly as able, to hear and distinguish the different chirps, squeaks and squeals of the woods. They know the bitterness of the cold and the wet of the rain, the heat from the sun and the ways game animals go to escape it, and where they can go to. Hunting is part of being a woodsman an art many of the concrete and steel world have forgotten.
Hunting grounds us as individuals, it shows us the importance of Britney and pop culture, versus the reality of life and death of struggle and of war.
Hunting provides healthy food, that hasn't been processed and sprayed, saran wrapped and packaged, it teaches us what waste is and why it is wrong. It teaches us the importance of economy and the gift that food is, and clothing is when you remember that once animal skin was our clothes and at times still is.
Hunting is an art, that takes perseverance and luck, to be done with any consistency it takes skill. It teaches defeat and triumph and it knows an elation like no other. To have been so close with bow and arrow, the hair standing straight out on your neck, a doe circling you in the early morning dimness as she tries to wind you, foot stomping, a snort of breath, just dark enough you can't take the shot.
It teaches responsibility, and the weight and gravity of our decisions. Who doesn't feel sorrow at the taking of a life? Who doesn't feel thanks for the experience and the triumph?
Hunting is a chance to live "as" nature, not to be a spectator. Animals are faster, see better, smell better, hear better, and they live the life of the woods day in and day out. We use our minds to overcome these obstacles.
Hunting has many wonderful attributes. Keep thinking about what you love about it. I am sure you will find your reasons.

relaxing in the woods. a good thing for fathers&sons/daughters/wives to do together. if a father takes a child he can teach the child gun safety when and when not to use a gun how to use it correctly. when my grandpa goes he goes with buddies and they camp together and just hang out. cheaper than buying meat at the store. especially when it comes to making your own jerkey. I'd rather eat deer than any other meat.
