Short answer is YES

When I started using a handgun for whitetail deer, I used a 6 inch barrel in 44 mag. later buying a 10 inch barrel as well Now I keep the 10 inch set with a scope and use the 6 inch for iron sights. I have taken several deer with this set up, and no doubt the 50AE will do the same. But the 50ae will drop faster at longer range than the 44 mag. But practice makes perfect.

I aam really not sure , but one thing I know for sure is that the 10 inch barrell will improve yoour accuracy by a whole lot . because it is a litle heavierin the end and will lhold on target better . As far as knocksown power , you have all you need in either or gun . I have shot rabbits on the move with the 10' BARRELL . That is quitea trick but can be done . I don't know about the desert eagle as I have not had a lot of experience with one.

I think that .50AE would be pretty devastating to whatever you were shooting. I personally would use something more to the tune of a .44 Mag but remember that you arent using a rifle for what you are hunting, so long range shots may not be as effective, especially on larger game.

Sorry to say but the Desert Eagle leaves a bit to be desired. It is big, heavy and you may as well be carrying a rifle. There is also the "magnum flinch" that many people develop shooting it. I think I would go with a different gun, one that you can shoot all day without developing a flinch or a sore wrist.

Dude, I had a friend that paid good money for a brand new Desert Eagle (we call it the Desert Beagle). That thing never could fire a complete magazine full of ammunition without jamming. I am telling you, 100% of the time, when firing a mag full of factory loaded 50 AE rounds, it jammed.

There are certainly better suited handguns for hunting, but it wouldn't be too bad of a choice. I would suggest a .44 magnum version, rather than the .50AE just because it won't tear through your wallet...as fast.

Tons of power. If you can afford it and find lots of ammo, quite a weapon. Watch your scope though, pistol scopes are FUSSY with eye relief. Don't cheap out after buying the gun, get something nice, Burris makes a hell of a pistol scope for the money.

My opinion? No, too heavy. I use a Colt Anaconda, 44 mag. Much easier to pack and I'm not paying two or three dollars a round when I miss (which ain't all that often).

Depends how big of game you'll be hunting. Could be overkill and heavier than necessary.
