Does anyone know what the knife/ Concealed Knife laws are for the state of maine?

I've been told that you can carry a knife as long as it's not a switchblade or has a blade longer then 6 inches. Is this true?

If it says that the length of the blade cannot exeade 6 inches...does that mean I can carry a knife with a six inch blade?

I'm looking to get a sight for for one of my rifles, I want something with fast target aquisition and low magnification if any. I was thinking Red Dot, HOLOgraphic, or peep sights. I'm putting these sights on a rifle I do some CQB drills with and I use for deer hunting in bush. No worries, It's a bigger cal than the 5.56x45 haha. The farthest shooting I plan to do with it is 150 yards. Thanks!

i just bought a matching pair of handguns that are pretty sweet, except one is a 9mm and one is a 380 ACP, the magazines seem to be innerchangable but i was curious as to wether or not the 380 could fire off a 9mm round seeing as the 9mm rounds are less expensive, or am i just going to destroy a nice firearm?

if you had to pick ONE and only ONE firearm for survival purposes
which caliber would you get? think both hunting and protection.
make and model are okay to list but not really required, just the
caliber is fine. I want to know what YOU would get not what you

I am an Avid hunter. I own a remington .270. i am looking to purchase a new rifle. Looking over the ballistics of both the .243 and .308 they are very similar.

I am leaning more toward the .243. I only hunt whitetail deer.
My shots range from 30 yards out to about 150...I could shoot alot farther but I know I am not good enuff to shoot out pass 200 yards. I owe that to the animal.

So what caliber would you chose and why?

Many people dog on the 9mm, 38spc, 380acp,.22lr etc; Poor manstopper.bad for self defense.yada, yada! However many people say the .45acp/1911(I love mine by the way),takes em' right down! Is it not possible that someone could get shot with a .45acp and have a failure to stop the assailant? Honestly, the difference in the circumfrence of the slugs is only like .10 give or take. Do you think that the stories are a little inflated maybe? Deer can be shot with a 30-06 and take a run before they die. Can some people suck up a couple .45 slugs, and not collapse in a heap like the stories you always hear? This is a good question for cops, Vietnam tunnel rats, WW2 vets, gangsters, and anyone else who has bared witness to the alegged .45 auto death ray! Thanks for your input my friends.Have at it!
