No matter where I go online or in real life, I seem to be the only person who thinks hunting deer and other animals is wrong. Just because it's more humane than the factories doesn't make it right. I'm not asking if I should change my mind, I just want to know why I am so alone in this. Even other vegetarians don't agree with me. Maybe I'm having some terrible nightmare or something, where I'm the only person who thinks it is just as wrong for a human to kill a wild animal as it is to kill another human being.

it is a Springfield Model 67DL, a 12 ga. it does not have a screw out choke and I was going to take it deer hunting but did not want to fire a slug through it if the choke is too tight. It does not say what kind of choke it has on the barrel.

I've nothing against hunting--my husband hunts, my father did in his day--but please tell me why-when you have a gun shy dog you just leave them!!?? I have 3 beagles now who've been left in the woods surrounding my property--they're now house pups and I love them dearly but I'm running out of space here (we already had 2 labs!). I put ads in the paper, alerted the little country store in the village up the road--no one came to claim these guys and girl. We know they're gun shy (good grief, I popped open a can of biscuits and they ran under the bed!). If you don't want them don't just leave them, if they run off out of fear make half an effort to find them, I do what I can but like I said-we're running out of room for your dogs!!! The last one was half dead from starvation and cold. She's now fat and lying by my feet but you can't always count on that. Just think a little bit before you leave them-ok!?

My family is very liberal, and they hate guns. But I am extremely fascinated with them. My dad only took me to a shooting range once and it was just to fire a revolver. I really want to do more like fire a rifle or even own one but they say that's too far into the hobby. Sometimes I like to make concept art for guns myself and my siblings are afraid I am turning into a terrorist or something. I'm not even allowed to have an airsoft gun. My sister is dead afraid, thinking that airsoft guns can kill you, when in fact they shoot 8mm plastic BBs.

How can I convince them that my hobby is harmless, and that I'll never become a cold-blooded killer? I am quite liberal myself by the way. My viewpoint in firearms is probably the most conservative I'll ever stand at.

I know that the British army Lee Enfield 303 is no longer made, but with the 500+ still in circulation, and considering that it is a bolt action rifle, unlike its American counterpart the M1 Garand, which was spring loaded (and was, in affect, the worlds first SLR,) and considering the power behind it and its stopping power, and not forgetting the 10 round cartridge, would you peronally, use it for hunting purposes? and if not, which would you use?

I would use the Enfiled 303 and the Magnum Bolt Action 300 (both for stopping power alone)

This question is open to all nationalities and both males and females
