Yes it will easily. Almost any high powered rifle will go trough bullet resistant glass.
A true armor-piercing bullet will go through a 1/2" thick metal plate.

a standard 30-06 will got through 2 and a half inches of glass.
The bullet breaks apart after that. With an armor peircing bullet, it would only go further.
Bullet proof glass as you call it, is meant to stop hand gun rounds. Bullet proof vests, and bullet proof glass can not stop rifle rounds.

I wonder if some people who answer have ever shot anything?
There are no hard and fast answers to all this for the somple reason that you didn't say how much.
First, half an inch or armor plate is nothing. A 5.56x45 AP round will zip right through 1/4" mild steel, but that's nothing much. 50 BMG SLAP rounds will do an inch of Rolled Homogenous Armor.
The 50 BMG Raufoss M211 round which the Marine Scout Snipers use will punch through the typical armored glass blocks used on armored cars. So that's a yes. A 5.56x45 or 7.62x51 won't do that with a single shot. Given time and careful aim a 22 could dig through armored glass, but it would take a lot of shots.
If you used a lot more layers of armored glass you'd be able to keep out a Raufoss round, but it could still punch right through the armor used on armored limos and that sort of thing, even light armored vehicles.
No hard and fast answers, you can always add more armor, you can always use a bigger bullet.

Generally speaking, there is no handgun caliber that will punch through an armored car. There is specialty ammunition, i.e., metal piercing bullets, that are designed to go through metal but they are usually in a rifle caliber. Kevlar armor (depending on thickness) will defeat most handgun ammo. The FiveseveN round will defeat most Kevlar vests because of its size (small), its shape (pointed), and its velocity (about 2,000 fps). With most handgun rounds, you can not load enough powder to push the bullet fast enough to get through armor without exceeding the pressure limits of the gun shooting the bullet. Too much pressure in the chamber and the gun blows up. That help? No, again. Exchanging the regular gunpowder for some other type of propellant will not solve the pressure problem. Most handguns will tolerate about 50,000 pounds per square inch of pressure. You exceed that and the gun blows up. Changing gun powders is some I do as a reloader all the time. Some gun powders burn faster than others. Ironically, if I want the bullet to go faster, I have to use a slower burning gunpowder so I do not go over the pressure limits of my gun. For instance. I want the bullet to go 1800 fps. I have to use 22 grains of Red Dot gunpowder (a slow burn powder) to do that. If I use 22 grains of WW231 (a fast burn powder) I would blow up my gun.

The ability of bullet-resistant glass to stop a bullet is determined by the thickness of the glass. A rifle bullet will collide with the glass with a lot more force than a bullet from a handgun, so a thicker piece of bullet-resistant glass would be needed to stop a rifle bullet as opposed to a handgun bullet. There is also one-way bullet-resistant glass available, which has one side able to stop bullets, while the other side allows bullets to pass through it unaffected. This gives a person being shot at the ability to shoot back. This type of bullet-resistant glass is made by laminating a brittle sheet of material with a flexible material. Imagine a car equipped with this one-way bullet-resistant glass. If a person outside the car shoots a bullet into the window, the bullet would strike the brittle side first. This brittle material would shatter around the point of impact and absorb some of the energy over a large area. The flexible material then absorbs the remaining energy of the bullet, stopping the bullet. A bullet fired from inside the same car would easily pass through the glass because the bullet's force is concentrated on a small area, which causes the material to flex. This causes the brittle material to break outwards, allowing the bullet to pierce the flexible material and strike its target. So, everything depends on what kind of bullet proof glass you have.

First, there is no "bulletproof" glass that exists yet. Only bullet resistant.
On MythBusters they had a box made of 1" thick bullet resistant glass and no handgun cartridge would go all the way through. However, a .30-06 went clean through both sides. So a high powered rifle can go through 1", but small arms cannot regardless of bullet type. I do not kno about other thicknesses and different materials though.

Yes it will. As for 1/2 inch steel plate, my 30.06 with soft point lead bullets will plow a hole into a36 1/2 inch plate at 100 yards. AP bullets were ment to penitrate tank shells and APC units. They will and do reach into 1-1/2inch steel at PB range.
There is no such AP bullet for a handgun. Just because the bullet is FMJ with a sharp point does not mean AP !!!!! To much TV is bad for your brain !!!

Some will, some won't, as much as i hate to say it, it really does depend on the thickness and type of bullet resistant glass, and the type and caliber of firearm used.

It completely depends on caliber and amount of powder charge. A .50 caliber BMG round with the long cartridge (the one the army snipers use) would penetrate through a piece of bullet resistant glass, but a small 9mm round which fits into a colt 911 for example would just crack the glass, but not penetrate it.

Dude do u watch MYTHBUSTERS they showed this episode a few weeks ago that a sniper can bust through a bullet resistent glass.
