It depends on which model of gun you are comparing to which. Read the reviews online and see what you think then.

This is 6 years old i know, but i had to comment. I own a sig p226 and a glock 19 gen 3. Dont have a h&k yet so i cant comment on it. Anyhow, i have around 5000 rounds through the g19 with zero failure to feeds or any malfunctions of any kind, it's been flawless. The sig ive fired around 1700 rounds with 4 FTF's. I still like my sig, it's a nice looking pistol for sure, but i mainly just shoot cans with it now. There is a reason glocks are trusted my more civillians, LE departments and militaries around the world than any other brand. They are dependable, inexpensive and light. Sure, Walther, H&K, Sig's are all superb handguns but you are going to pay alot more for no increase in reliability. When i leave my house my g19 is on my hip.

HK and SigSauer? Do want a mercedes Benz or a BMW? I think that HK makes a far,far more accurate gun. Sigarms is slipping in that category. HK is legendary in engineering handguns and rifles. Sigarms was a merger between SIG (Switzerland) and JP SAUER AND SOHN (W.Germany) in the early 70s. Sigarms are appealing because of their friendly "browning-like appearance. But for accuracy and reliabilty I would take a HK squeeze-cocker (Yes, I have fired one) over a Sigarms anyday (I used to own a P225).

I had the opportunity to visit the HK factory in Oberndorf back in the 80's. They were working on a procuction-line sniper rifle, instead of every sniper rifle being totally custom made. They let us shoot one of the prototypes. I'm not the best shot in the world, but my first shot was 1/2 inch left of dead center at 300 yds. My second was 3/4 inch at 10 O'clock. Not sure how that would compare with Sig... but that my experience with HK. We were shooting factory .308 ammo.

Sig Sauer as a company no longer exists, it has been Swiss Arms AG since 2000, distributed in the US by SIGARMS. Both create firearms of extraordinary quality, as evidenced in their use by special forces units across the globe. But in terms of innovation and variety of designs, Heckler & Koch is the leader.

Both Sig and HK are fine manufacturers. Which models are you considering and why. If you are shopping for a concealed carry gun you might want to consider the Kimber RCP. I shopped all the pistols, put all my money in a pile and bought one. For three years I have carried it and it is the perfect Refined Carry Pistol. The Sig P220 in .45 and the HKP9S are some of my favorites pistols as well.

Are you kidding? SigArms is by far the better company because they make a better product.

You simply can beat the Sig P226.

Well, you won't make a bad choice. I'd pick the H&K. I don't really have a tangable reason why. Maybe it's just preference. I got a couple USP's, and I've sure enjoyed them.

They are both quality manufacturers. Because of that, which one you choose is unimportant. What is more important between the two, is which has the features you want and which feels best-in-hand to you.
