Bandolier is the proper term for an ammo carrier worn across the chest.
If I'm thinking right, however, "Rambo" simply has the ammo belt for a machine gun on him. In which case, it would simply be belted ammuntion.

I guess I'll pile on here. A thing you wear across your chest that holds ammo is a bandoleer, but good ol' Johnny Rambo had a belt of ammo, which feeds right into the gun. A bandoleer you'd have to reload your gun or magazine, Rambo's just fed right into the chamber.

In that scene , John Rambo carries a M-60 machine gun which is belt fed. What you want to know is that it is a 200 round belt of .308 caliber bullets. The bullets are held togather by interlocking links that basicly disinigrate when they are drawn thru the weapon. A banolier is a belt with a row of pouches that hold seperate magazines or clips .

It is spelled B-A-N-D-O-L-E-E-R not Bandolier.
A bandoleer is a belt of leather or cloth for carrying ammo,
Bandolier is a French surname and a National Park in New Mexico.
What Rambo wore over his dumb self was "belted ammo".....

the correct term is bullet carrreir thingy mebob but for a machin gun like rambos what you see is belt feed munitions that are interlocked to be fed into a heavy machin (non hand held mounted machin gun) gun. you would only use a bullet carreir thingy mebob for a rifle and not a magizin fed or belt fed gun
