yes, if you want to go to a collapsible stock that is fine.
if one looks at highly refined and accurate firearms you will see that stock configuration is of paramount importance
the fit of a gunstock is as important as the rest of the gun as far as accuracy is concerned.
the rifle you speak of is not designed for supreme accuracy to begin with.
changing the stock will alter only slightly the end result

I have never owned a collapsible stock. I was doing research on building a shorty. From what I can tell the stocks get a little loose over time. This will reduce consistency. If you are going for a really short collapsible stock you will need to replace the buffer buffer tube and recoil spring. Even though it is not a question could you post whether this has any impact on reliability? please

John K. is right as far as he goes, but he doesn't mention balance. The collapsible stock is quite a bit lighter than the hard stock.Assuming the weapon is well balanced to begin with, the change will make it barrel-heavy,which will make it awkward to use.

The only difference you might see is a slightly different sight picture due to the comb of the stock being different.

It may affect the way you aim you will need some time on the firing line after any change to the weapon.
