since pellet guns run out of energy rather quickly it will depend alot on the distance
i have killed many squirrels, pgeons a few rabbits and crows with both a .177 a 1000 fps and a 5mm (20 cal) at about 900 fps
birds are touf as feathers pack up in front of the pellet thus cushioning the impact
best to chose the pointed hunting pellets that slip through the feathers and into the vitals
depending on the fps of your gun, the type target , the type pellet used ,you should be able to knock them down at 10-20 meters or 30-60 feet
all depends on these factors
trial and error is a must
happy hunting

I think that the values you've been given are good, so I'll just add some observations.

Bird and rabbits usually drop right over like nothing.

I've mainly used BB's on birds, and they just fall out of the trees - but the feather cushion point does sound valid based on shotgun hunting observations. Probably BB's or pointed pellets are better on birds than wadcutters.

22 caliber air rifle wadcutters work great on rabbits.
They may move a couple of feet like nothing happened and then just fall over dead.

Those darn squirrels are tough though!
I've gotten a good body hit on one with a .22 long rifle and it ran 50 yards and was still chattering and putting up a fight.
Better try for a head shot on those and pump it all the way up to boot.

I've used about 400 fps and that worked fine out to 30-40 feet. the ones that they use now without needing a special license in Canada is up to 980 fps I think, I know it's below the speed of sound, in the US? about 1000 fps.

If there is a hunting season on squirrels in your state, you had best check to see if that is a legal weapon for squirrels and that you are not shooting them in a closed season. I would believe that you would wound more than you would kill and that you shouldn't be attempting to kill squirrels with a BB or pellet gun. Use the proper weapon or leave them alone!

i depends on distance

i can say that i've killed rabbits and crows from about 30 yards with mine, which tops out at only about 600fps

it was loaded with pointed pellets, honestly don't know if wadcutters would have done the trick or not

depends on the distance

upto 100ft go with a 800fps

between 100 and 250 go with 1000fps

anything longer you will have to go to a .22 rifle

Depends on where you hit them. You can kill them with a rock if you hit them right.
