Does anyone know what the knife/ Concealed Knife laws are for the state of maine?

I've been told that you can carry a knife as long as it's not a switchblade or has a blade longer then 6 inches. Is this true?

If it says that the length of the blade cannot exeade 6 inches...does that mean I can carry a knife with a six inch blade?

The knife I'm wondering about can be found on this sight

1. Display or carrying prohibited. A person may not, unless excepted by a provision of law:
A. Display in a threatening manner a firearm, slungshot (yes, that's what it says slungshot) , knuckles, bowie knife, dirk, stiletto or other dangerous or deadly weapon usually employed in the attack on or defense of a person; or
B. Wear under the person's clothes or conceal about the person's person a
firearm, slungshot, knuckles, bowie knife, dirk, stiletto or other dangerous or deadly
weapon usually employed in the attack on or defense of a person.

Except for:
C. Knives used to hunt, fish or trap as defined in Title 12, section 10001;
(However, I can't find that definition.)

I would say that as long as it's not concealed or displayed in a threatening manner, you're probably OK.
If you can find where it says that it would be a great fishing, hunting, or trapping knife and carry that with you - that would be nice, cause it looks like a bowie knife to me...

Note: If you are a felon or prohibited from possessing or carrying any deadly weapon, that can include pocket knives - or even paring knifes (I've see it applied that way).

I would assume that means you can carry a knife with a 6-inch blade. But the knife you are wondering about states it has a six and a half inch blade. Also the measuring of the blade can vary a manufacturer may list the blade measurement as the length from hilt to tip while a law enforcement officer may measure with a soft tape accounting for the curve and the result may be marginally over the limit but still enough for them to stick you with a charge.
