We have all but stoped camping and hiking since the twins were born. We went on a overnighter(my husband and I only) about three months ago, but thats been ut for almost two and a half years! Its time to get back on the ball...SO, my question is, what are the things you have found most helpful to bring, and what expectations did you discover had to be adjusted? My twins are a little over two now. I also have a 12 year old(not a concern, he has been camping/hiking many a time with us) We live in Arizona, much of our camping this year is going to be in the white mountains or the Sedona/Flagg area. Thanks in advance!

Looking for a shaded ocean beach location to tent camp this summer. Must be in Northeastern US, within a day's drive of the Baltimore MD area. Must be shaded and preferably a quiet and secluded location. Can be public or privately owned. Not looking for a "tourist attraction" type beach, more of a laid back and quiet location.

Anyone know a site where I can find trails to run? All I can find are trails that go through the woods. An I don't know if I want to be running by myself in the woods. Thanks for any info.

Yet again--another wee Beagle on my front step--fed her, housed her for a few days--took her to the local vet to be scanned for a chip--nothing there. She did have tatoo in her ear but couldn't find the owner and so---I've already got two Beagle potatoes living the good life on my couch (that were left with no chips or tatoos-despite ads in the papers) next to the 2 labs I actually bought!! So this one went off to the shelter--I feel awful about it!! Nice dog, lovey dog---I hope her owner finds her!!

Per California law I am a few days out from bringing home my new Springfield XD .40. This is the first handgun that I have owned, so I am still learning. I do not seem to be able to find much information on ammunition. I am trying to learn about the different types of ammo that are available. I want to learn about velocity, grain, etc. Does any one have a good web sites they can recommend to me? From what I understand the type of ammo that you use is VERY important for home defense, at least for the legality of it if I have to use it. Glazier safety slugs have been recommended to me, but then again so have Federal safety slugs. The main purpose for this fire arm is home defense with some recreational shooting on the side. I have no idea!!! Please help!!!

with trout season about to start in NY i have a question. what is the best lure for trout? most of the time i use power bait and it works great. but i dont like that i have no lures for trout. i have heard that rooster tails work well but i dont like that you cant cast them that far at all. so besides them what lures do you find are the best. will they hit a top water popper for bass or is it to big for the trout? please help.

Alright, I'm on a quest for some serious, rugged, knee high, waterproof boots. I just got a job in Hawaii, which will have tough terrain due to past lava flows and a wet/hot climate. I'm also going to have to do a lot of hiking in these boots. Anyone know of any comfortable and not disgustingly expensive boots that would work for me?

My cousin just moved into this farmer's house and there is a pond on the property. We fished it all last summer and he has a lot of kids and they didnt seem to understand the catch and release part. They just caught them and put them in a bucket and left them to die. So I am worried that this year the pond might be fished out. Any suggestions on how I could tell or if I can possibly restock it.
