Yeah you just have to be careful and keep the hook away from the boat while the hook is in the water.

3 meters is a good-sized boat. I would assume it's thick enough not to pop from bumping up against shallow rocks or submerged branches, which would mean it's not going to get popped by a hook tapping it. But you should be careful anyway.

Years ago I saw a couple guys in about a 6-foot inflatable (it looked like it was made for a swimming pool) fishing in a harbor in southern California. They tried to tie up to a dock, and the plastic got torn. It didn't pop like a balloon, so they had time to get out safely, but lost a couple of fishing rods and a tackle box. I would definitely recommend life jackets if you're using an inflatable, if you're fishing or not.

I was wondering the same thing. Why don't you call the 800 number of the inflatable boat manufacteur. That way you get the right answer. It's dangerous to be fishing in 20 feet of water without knowing that.

I think you'll find the PVC material is a lot tougher than you think. Usually hooks bounce right off. If you are still concerned, switch to weedless hooks, the kind with little wire arms that reach from the eye to the barb of the hook. Those should eliminate any further risk.

Are you certainly going to be fishing in this raft? it is not stupid i've got seen fishfinders on kayaks. i do no longer think of Sevylor makes something inflexible, i might say you like a tough backside to mount the transducer on, plus the thank you to potential it. a transportable 9v one may well be good, in case you will come across a great thank you to mount it.

I used the black goop with a small rubber peice to patch the holes in mine...Same stuff you get with an intertube.

You can find it at Wal-Mart in the bycle section, but my boat came with the patch stuff.

You just need to be carefull with your hooks. Try to find something to cover them with when they are not being used.
