I am in your predicament, right handed and left master eye.
This was noticed when i started shooting at the age of 7 so i have had pleanty time to master shooting from my left shoulder.
Like most have said it makes no difference but this is only the case if you master it.
When shooting through rifle scopes it makes no difference in my oppinion.
I often have a go shooting clays with my right hand and am often sucsessfull when i shut my left eye.
If you feel comftable with shooting left handed then go for it

You will have the most success shooting left handed. I am left handed, but right eye dominant ( so I shoot right handed ) My sister is like you....it took her years to figure out why she had such a hard time shooting when every one else seemed to think it was soooo easy. I only had to go out shooting with her once to see what her problem was......she would put the rifle to her right shoulder, and then tilt her head over the top of the rifle trying to sight down with her left eye ! I pointed out that she appeared to have the same issue that I do ( opposite eye dominance ) and that switching the rifle to the left might solve the problem.....it did !

You cannot change your master eye but with lots of practice you can lean the muscle control to shoot left handed. I've seen it done both ways and always seen better success learning to shoot left handed. The single exception is my youngest daughter who has this condition and she used to shoot 4 position small bore and she used a patch on her left eye. It was a lot of work for her and soon ceased to be any fun so she gave it up.
Good luck

No, what you need to do is pick your sight picture. When both eyes are open and focused on a target you'll see two barrels and two sets of sights. Close your right a few times to see where the left sight picture is(chances are it's inverted, it will be the right side barrel that focuses. Use that sight picture and ignore the other one. Same as with right hand, right eye, just the other sight picture. Provided, of course, that you mean a handgun-I doubt this works with a rifle.

Nope. My brother and father are right handed, left eye dominant and shoot fine in competition for years.

You have that option, or, a simple fix would be to put a piece of Scotch tape over the left lens of your shooting glasses. It will distort your left-eye's sight just enough for your right eye to take over, but you'll still have your peripheral vision and situational awareness.

I have the same "problem" and it just took more practice at the range.I learned to adjust my head to the side slightly to compensate for my dominant eye.I can't say that my solution will work for you,but it has worked very well for me and now comes naturally when I shoot.

It would be easier to shoot from your left for you. but shooting from your less dominant eye is posable. it will just take more practice for you. You can also change wich eye is dominant by doing exersizes with yuor nondominant eye. (ie. reading with one eye closed.)
